I have changed my gear ratios from MA recomendations for this motor
It was a 13tooth pinion (MA recomended) i went to a 16tooth and that was orsum BUT at 100% it was nearly 2500 HS i
have now gotten from MA a 14 and a 15 tooth.
Tonight i tried the 15 and had 2330 UNloaded and 100% throttle, a quick fly produced a smile, still the puch out and SNAP but still a small vibration in the tail so i have checked alignment of the pinion on the motor and it was out a little, hopefully that was the drama.
I will try the 14 tooth and see what thats like too
I am aiming to get 2200-2300 at 0 pitch and hold 2100-2150 on the head.
That wil get it going real well but short flight times but i now have a few packs so i can fly all day.
I shall post as i do more,,,,,, even thinking about a flybarless version
i have the cylock and one 720...............................................

I have the same setup as PG378, except V-blades for main's - I recently just switched to the Jazz Controller, because I had a crash and attribute to either running a nicad with Spectrum DX7 (the spectrum will fail if the voltage falls below a min. required level) or the it could have been the CCHV85 controller, which I hear have had some failures.
I also like the simplicity/reliability of the Jazz even if I don't have all the features of the CC. Just got the heli. back together and looking forward to flying the Razor Again,
I was not flying it as much due to its weight, but in all sincerety it is a great quality heli. and just went back to getting it back in the air. The stability and quality is worth the extra weight,
Jeff
Best Razor setup imop;

Sorry Buster to hear about your crash.
Also I totally zoned out...I said we had a Jazz 55 esc...we used to but it cut-out at around 2 mins during four flights at IRCHA...then would not come back on at all...:bawl...almost all the Mikado guys at IRCHA also had there Jaz 55's going out on them. So we now use a Castle Creations Hv85.
Paul G.
BTW: I also use a Spektrum DX7.

There's a vid of the machine flying 2 weekends ago at the NC event with the headspeed at 2000 in the vid section. flew this past weekend at mulberry with 2200 and it was much crisper and rock solid also make sure you keep the tail belt very tight it helps hold the tail when doing very fast backwards flight.

Thats a nice way to mention the tail issue with the Razor. LOL. What hole are you on?
I am on the 5th hole from the front.

i think it's the second from the front but go by tension as all belts will stretch a bit and all will not be the same.
