View Full Version : BCHPA SF Funfly calling for a full Helifreak invasion
BCHPA (Broward County Helicopter Pilots Association) is calling all Helifreaks to a full blown invasion.
This is now a three day event, we got the field closed for helis only on Friday also
All information can be found on the flier.
we're working on hotel rates
In any case, you can show up as early as you want, since the field is open from sunrise to sunset 7 days a week and has a dedicated heli section.
any questions can be answered in this thread or in a thread at the BCHPA website http://www.bchpa.com
just look at the names already committed and start your traveling plans :D
and yes, we know that it is on the same weekend as the xfc, but not everybody wants to go there and this is the event for the rest of us.
the registration form can be downloaded at: (right click and save as)

Camping? I have heard that there are RV sites at Markham Park, but have also heard that they are not very close to the flying field. I don't need any hookups as I am self contained. Will I be able to park near the flight line, or are campers to be relegated to the RV park?
Inquiring minds want to know. :dontknow

As far as I know the campers are regulated to park at the RV site when staying overnight. However, if you want to park your RV at the field for the entire day that shouldn't be a problem as I have seen it many times.
You will not have access to your camper on the flight line itself as the field is fenced off but to park 100 feet away isn't that bad.

at the above pictures where you see all the cars parked, will show you the distance to the flight line (the runway) where you can park your camper during the funflight.
at night you will have to move your camper to the area at the park where they want the campers overnight and that is about 1 mile away.

Moving for overnight is not do-able for the LA CLINTA INN.............we use all the space inside for hauling and it is a one time deal setup. I wish they would allow us to just park atleast in the parking lot......... I will be re-thinking bringing my camper and I hate hotels........ what are the fees for the campers were they want us to park? I really like camper friendly sites............ :(
wow, the beast is coming, that's great
I missed you in port charlotte and orlando, time for you to show up in florida
Beresford, when you show up I even let you fly my raptor 50 again let's see if you can boomstrike it this time
I will find out if they can make an exception for the funfly, so you guys can camp at the parking lot.
I will also find out about the fees.

spoke to the park manager today.
tents cost $17.00 per day.
place for trailer/mobile home costs $18.00 per day and incl. water and power
if you want water, power and sewer it costs $19.00 per day.
these spaces are about 1 mile from the air field and we can shuttle you back and forth if needed.

Data
That's too bad about not being able to stay at the airfield. :( Are reservations needed to stay at the trailer park? If so, do you have a number to call?
Thanks
