For those of you building or who will build a Spectra, please follow the instruction guide and operators guide to the letter.

Lately I've seen a few cases where customers have had problems with the model and its turned out that they made changes to the fuel system or didn't follow the initial startup instructions in the operators guide, or changed some of the parts during assembly during the initial build.

A lot of time was spent developing the instructions and operators guide and they include ideas that have proven to make the model work very well right out of the box.

Although its your helicopter, and you can change it however you want, if you initially build it in the recommended way, it will work as its supposed to. Once its working properly, then you can make your own modifications and will be able to "back them out" one at a time if they don't work as you intended.

My only problem was the diagram resolutions werent the best in the PDF Files. I even took it to Kinko and had it printed out and some of the diagrams are hard to read due to poor resolution.

Other than that I agree Pay close attention to the directions regardless of your experience with X Cell. They really built a Great new Design with the Spectra !

The Spectra directions are some of the best I have ever seen with any brand of helicopter I have had. Great work MA and Carey!!

There will be a new version of the drawings that should solve any issues with clarity. It will be several weeks before they are ready though

Just in time to ship with the next set of Spectras? :D My buddies and I were just told 'two weeks' again :( I'm assuming it is worth the wait, after helping a friend put his Tempest together. By the time these things get shipped I'll actually have all the parts I need to finish it. Seems the norm for this hobby though. At least it's not as bad as the video game industry.

DavidH reported elsewhere in these forums that it would be as much as 5 weeks, pending delivery of a couple of parts. As soon as they get these, there are quite a few spectra kits packed and ready to go.
