Any one seen a Kaman K-Max type RC Heli?
Just curious if there have been any custom built K-Max type RC heli’s? I have always thought this would make a cool RC.

Hi Helocat,
I've not seen the K-max modeled (even though I agree; it would be a cool chopper to model). But I have seen pictures of another side-by-side tandem helicopter model, the Flettner Fl-282 Kolibri. The K-max should be a similar project.

I knew I'd seen pictures of one:

I always thought the Husky might make a good model too.

Talk about a coincidence! Just a week ago I was crewed on a 212 with a Swiss pilot who up until April this year, had been flying a Kamax for Rotex. When Hienz found I was an avid R/C heli flyer, he told me about a Swiss fellow who had contacted Rotex regarding their color scheme(s) because he was buiding an R/C Kamax. The guy later sent some photos to Rotex of the completed model - I'm guessing the link above is to the same guy and the same model! Quite an achievement given the complexity of the flight control mixing on the full-scale (arguablely more complex even than the Chinook flight controls).

hey guys , I'm glad to see someone else interested in the k-max. I think this could be built using 2, simple fixed pitch hummingbirds ....I built a small proto using stuff I had , and I know that differential cyclic will yaw the craft. In the full size they use both , diff cyclic, and diff collective. Timing of the rotors can be done with 2 smaller main gears , set on the 26 degree angle . Can you make these smaller helis' flybarless ? any input would be appreciated .
thanks , {new to the site,but helos ...} Terry

I am the usa distributor, and it is available, and will lift quite a bit;
as well as the ultimate camera platform, etc... Include is custom IC mixing electronics.
