I am new in the helli R/C hobby and need the help of the experts to select a replacement Transmitter for my actual Futaba T6EXHP 72MHz. I have the opportunity to select between a Futaba 7CHP 72MHz and a Futaba 6EX 2.4GHz.
My issue is, if it worth more, the extra features from the 7CHP over the frequency trouble free 6EXHP 2.4GHz ??
The coming 7C 2.4MHz would be out of budget,
Thx in advance 4 da help.
All comments are welcome.

Spektrum DX7 with a AR6100 or AR7000 receiver.

BTW, I picked up a brand new DX7 (radio, battery and charger) on eBay for $174.99 from a store called nitrorchobbies.

The 6EX is a pain to program. You should buy the best radio you can afford and stick with it.
The DX7 was my first real radio, and its great. You probably wont have to upgrade for a long time with this radio either. I will be selling mine as soon as I receive my 2.4 JR X9303. And the only reason i'm upgrading is because I do AP and need a little more channels.

I started with a DX7 and love it.
I've never had to say "it was a PCM lockout"
I've never read threads about "glitches"

Best system for the money, hands down, is the DX7.

or if your just into small birds the dx6, as it's way cheaper and i think has most of the features of the dx7.

I would wait for the DX6i. It will be DSM2 and work with all current Rxes. The DX6 only works with the AR6000.

And the i version will have even more features.

But I agree, get a DX7 or at least some other 7 or higher channel radio. I bought a JR 9303 this time last year and LOVE it. I have a Spektrum module in it right now, but will get a X9303 2.4 when I recover from buying 13 receivers. :)
