I have one of the older versions (colored motor wires) of the subject ESCs and cannot get it into min/max throttle programming mode (this one has never been used). I have followed the directions to the letter and this is my fourth Quark so I have a little background. However, the last one I programmed was over a year ago.

After pressing and holding the program button, I turn on the ESC and hold the the button for at least 3 seconds. The red light comes on while holding the button but extinguishes upon relase of the button and no sound or blinking occurs after this step. What is wrong here?

The radio is the Futaba 9Z with the RX and the heli is the Gohbee Phazor 450 with the stock motor and 3 cell "He Cell" battery pack.

I tried reversing the throttle in the TX but with no positive results. Also, all internal TX adjustments like ATV and Subtrim seem to be in the right positions. Clearly I am having brain gas and am (hopefully) missing something stupid related to said gas.

Hey,

I am heavily involved with the Quarks and use both the 33a's and a larger 65amp unit in my Century Swift, they are excellent controllers and very easy to setup once you know how.

Reading your post I am of the feeling you need to increase the throttle channels ATV a little to get the controller to recognise the full power position and minimum. This I have had to do in the past on my models, the 33a was ok at 100% either way but the 65 unit has required an extra 6% ATV at top & bottom stick to arm etc.

Also you need to turn on the ESC before you press and hold the program button for entering both Basic & Advanced settings mode.

For Basic:

- Turn on Tx
- Move Throttle stick to full power position
- Turn on ESC and hear 2 recognition beeps
- After 2 seconds press & hold the programming button and then move the throttle stick to the minimum throttle position & hold. You should hear 5 beeps.
- Then go about programming as normal

For Advanced :

- Turn on Tx
- Turn on ESC and hear the normal series of beeps
- Press and hold the program button, then move the throttle stick to the maximum position & hold
- Release the program button after 2~3 seconds
- Program as normal

With the older Quarks, eg. V1's rememebr you need to select Car or Air mode first to be able to set all the parameters in the various menus.

I have written some more instructions based on the V1 Quarks which you can download from here :

Any problems just ask.
