Does anybody have any advice on locating the control module for the GY 611? At a guess, I would imagine that the sensor would go where it is shown in the manual, but as there is not room for the control module down there as well, the control module could go on top of the receiver right where the manual shows the V-bar control module going (which I am not using). Does this sound safe and practical (might limit access to the Rx?) Any other suggestions?

Secondly, I notice that the manual reccomends mounting the Rx with the included double sided mounting tape. Is is necessary to wrap the Rx in foam or similar to protect it from vibration, or does that mounting tape provide enough isolation?

The Rx I am using is an AR 7000, so I have the two parts to the Rx - any advice on mounting these in different orientations to minimise shadowing?

Thanks for the help,

Ant

I mounted the AR7000 on the upper Deck on the right side per the manual and the smaller portion of the receiver on the left hand side of heli. on the side (molded area that holds the left of heli. servo) by the servo - double sided it with tape, I didn't wrap it in foam - just doubled sided it with tape - I didn't feel it was necessary to wrap - its pretty guarded by the frames and not in the front of the helicopter.
I mounted the 611 amp. on the left side of the helicopter, right in front of the tail boom with double sided tape,
Jeff

Thanks Buster - that sounds like a good place for the amp - will be nice and easy to read there.

I wasn't so much worried about protecting the Rx from damage, just from vibration, but if double sided tape is working for you that is a good sign.
