I have a Futaba 9C Super and my cable from the TX to the USB cable plug seems to have a bad place in it....if I move it around it looses connection...this is the short cable from the TX to the sim cable....Where can I get one and if there is more wrong where can I get the whole cable system from the computer to the TX....it drives me crazy..I have to hold the TX in a certain position to get to fly or it will loose connection with the computer...has anyone else had this problem......

Try contacting the manufacturer at support@phoenix-sim.com. I would hope that they'd be willing to exchange your bad cable for a good one for a nominal cost, possibly even free.

This seems to be a particular problem. Mine did the same thing. I emailed the company and they sent me a new one.

cmassa,
Did they ask you to send in you faulty one......I emailed them and they said for me to send them my faulty one and they would send me a new one......well the problem is how long does that take....I can make it work by putting it in a bind under the keypad...and it would get me thru until the new one got here but they want me to send it in....I play every day and would hope it didn't take to long for a return......How long did it take to get yours from them.....Thanks.

They told me the same thing. I complained about not having it to use and they sent me a new one without getting the old one. I still need to send the old one back but mailing something overseas takes a bit more effort than just dropping it in the mailbox in an envelope. These adapter cables for Futaba seem to be a weak point because I've heard of several other people having the same issue.

How long did it take to get the cable....Also was it the short cable or the long one that went bad......

It was the short cable that plugs into the transmitter that went bad. It only took a few days to get one, less than a week anyway.

bought a great planes adapter cable for the futaba 9C Super and the only difference so far is that it doesn't power up the tx when it's pluged into the port and you have to use the tx switch to turn the tx on and it is transmitting....I pulled the module out of the tx and just use it that way and it works fine....just turn it off and on with the tx switch......Phoenix said they would send me a replacement adapter cable today.....thank goodness I got it working...it's a blast....and good learning tool......

I have exactly the same problem! I think it is a production problem. The cable is brand new, only three days old. TrexMAD.co.uk promised me a new cable two weeks ago, but until today I have not received it.

Like I said earlier I bought the adapter calbe from great planes for five bucks and it works sorta like the original...only thing is is doesnt' automatically turn on you have to use the switch on the tx and it is transmitting so I pull the module and then everything works fine....it's a tougher cable than the one from Phoenix anyway....they also said they were going to send me a new cable but it hans't been enough time for me to receive it yet...At least I am back flying with the alternate cable.....And when and if they do send me a new cable I hope it's beefed up a little more so it will last.....Good Luck.......

Madedon The cable I bought was this one http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXCGR6&P=M but it is for the Futaba 9C Radio TX......it worked but I had to pull my module and turn the TX on and off with it's switch and that was fine with me....give Phoenix an email and tell them your problem...they sent me a cable and it didn't take but a few days probably less than a week.....but the Great Planes cable is a lot beefier.....probably will last alot longer....

I m thinking to try Hitec USB Flight Simulator Interface HRC Tx (http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXJPC0&P=M) which i found in my local shop with my DX7 but I m not sure that wil work..... Ypu see Greece is a bit far to send the cables back and forth. Costs a lot too. If I can make this work with 30$ I would be happy. Anyone any ideas to get Pheonix working with DX7...
Thanks man:noteworthy

Madedon, the cable Canoman is refering to goes between the Phoenix USB cable and the transmitter, if your using a DX7 (or JR) you don't have this cable.
You can't use any other cable between your PC and the transmitter, it needs the dongle (black box in the cable) to work, if your cable is faulty I'm sure Phoenix will make it right.

LOL. i thought it was just me. but mine wasn't the original Reflex cable, i think it must be cheapy clone by china manufacturer since i got my in HK when i was there. keke... oh just another thing, previously using 9CHP super, but i m gonna swap to DX7, so is that cable still usable? i think it would be ok since it comes with another shorter audio jack cable.

Add me to the list my square cable for Futaba was broken out of the box new. I have to squeeze it in a bend to maintain comms with the PC.
They said they would send me one today, by express mail. I certainly can't complain about their response, which is great. But I do think that this is something they've been aware of for some time (based on the age of this thread), and it appears as they have done nothing to address it from their supplier to date.
Message to Phoenix RC: Fire your cable supplier and find someone who can solder a few wires together correctly. Not to be obnoxious, but how hard can it be to make a cable? You guys put together a beatiful RC simulator and you're screwing up the wiring? LOL that's like a master chef burning toast. Get it together !!
Great software though, I love the TREX models they are dead on accurate!

I had the same problem. Contacted my supplier (Heliguy in UK) they sent me another cable right away, and it was worse than the first. I took the new cable apart to try to fix it, but just made it unuseable. I switched back to the original, and have to force it into the TX while wiggling it, and it's ok.

Hi George,
With my current cable, the problem is in the wire itself, it acts like a break. I know this because I've isolated the exact spot in the cable where I have to bend it to get it to work. It's probably a stretched wire.
Since they did not ask for their old cable back I am going to perform surgery on it when I get the new one. See if I can figure out what the problem is.

That's the way my second one was.I tried to shorten the cable, but the pins in the TX end plug are very close, and can't take much heat. Then I scewed it up!

its not the soldering that is the problem here, its the cheap wire that is used and the 3.5mm female connector that goes limp after say 50 plugs,
Ive had to redo a few leads for friends and found the soldering was just fine.
Put a $2 gold 3.5mm plug on some good quality wire and reuse the futaba plug, this will last you a lifetime.

Hey IRO thanks I think you're right about that connector. What's the proper name of that connector or do you have a source (maybe radio shack?). If you have the time post the wiring layout so people can make their own cables. $18 for that worthless cable should be illegal. They should pay us for using it.
