Guys,

Is there any reason why i can't use a 1,400mAH 7.4V receiver battery ? One of my 2,100 11.1 lipos had a cell puff, so I have removed that cell and re-wired the balance charge wire and the main positive / negative cables. It charges fine and seems to work OK.

I know that it will be slightly heavier - but are there any other down-sides ??.

Cheers,

Mike.

No issue other that weight and fewer flights per charge. You're better off just buying a 1320 2 cell pack, or use a BEC to get the weight out though. What you have really made is a 2100 2 cell pack that weighs as much as a 2100 3 cell. Too heavy IMO.

actually it weighs 2/3rds of the original pack. Weight will be around 100 grams. Add another 15 grams for a BEC to go with it and it is a bit on the heavy side. Still OK though and I doubt you would notice any performace difference. Personally I just use an 800ma MaHi flight pack. Costs only $20 bucks and in my opinion much safer then any BEC. Good for a safe 4 or 5 flights before recharge and I have simulated 10 consecutative flights with this pack and still have 40% left in the pack.

Ah missed that he took out the bad cell. Must read more carefully.
