ok so the other night i finally gave in and got me a Blade CP+ flew it once and BOOOOOOOM.. k not nearly so bad but i couldnt control the thing for anything! scuffed up the blades pretty good and bent the small shaft between the blades.. well fixed this and took it back up and BOOOOOOOOM k again not nearly as bad as the first but i found i had a bum servo.. fix this and take it back up for the third time and BOOOOOOOM k this time it was kinda bad.. no damage BUT now when i plug the battery in the tail motor goes full tilt in the oposite direction, main motor only goes when i turn the throttle all the way and and pull the AIL stick to the right.. the more right the more juice.. whoa. the thing kinda had a mind of its own before this.. but now its brain dead. at first the servos would jerk and the thing would randomly have power surges to the main and tail motors. gawr. besides the crashes i speak of the only other thing i have done with this thing is i found an old power adapter to plug the charger into my wall. +12v/DC1.25A charged the battery and used this battery to fly the copter my third time.
daaaaaaaaang.. is this copter a POS? Bad luck? both!?
im a fairly busy person but i do have time to work on this thing.. learn it and have fun BUT if this is how the copter is going to act then i havnt nearly enough time to mess with it.
whats this things deal? 3in1? tx, rx? would i have better luck if i bought a gyro, mixer and speed controllers seperate? the electronics by my readings seem to be crap anyway. i cant deal with that when im gonna crash this thing and break it myself i dont want it to HELP ME! haha
ideas? advice? help? greatly appreciated the times ive flown this thing was a blast i can only imagine what it would be like having it in the air more than 2 seconds!
ohhh spare parts anyone? and or i havnt called horizon yet.. to see about warranty but i called the dealer and he was well.. horrible with customer service.
again thanks.. sorry i made it so long!! hah:shock:

Buy a T-rex450 or Mini-Titan and your problems will be over.

i know! hah but im stuck with one and id rather work with it and improve.. i mean i just shelled out 200 for the copter and nearly 75 for other things including repairs.

If you've plowed it into the ground a couple of times, I don't think that Horizon is going to be able to do much with regards to warranty. You might want give their support a call to work through your current issue.
Further, have you flown a radio-controlled helicopter before? It sounds like you're cracking things open for the first time. You might consider Radd's School of Flight
http://www.dream-models.com/eco/flying-index.html
...as a guide to get you going. I didn't follow Radd strictly, but it did give me some insight when I was learning.
The Blade CP is a challenging machine to learn on. If you can fly the Blade CP, you can fly anything.

Don't throw more money at it either, once you get the hang of it, you'll be able to at least do forward flight

soo.. well.. i running to my uncles house to grab a sim.. he just bought the one they have at the hobby town. weve been talking about getting a heli for quit a while now, were working together on all the finances.
so question.. while in process of getting new parts for the heli couldnt i put in aftermarket parts? like a new recommended gyro, speed controllers id like to put a new tail in im not a big fan of eflights. and what about a mixer ive searched a little bit but cant really find anything as for a mixer.
im not gonna replace this heli anytime soon.. if i can deal with it i want to learn this one and then buy a REAL EXPENSIVE ONE MUHAHA
as for you sir who asked if im just getting into this.. oh yea sure am had some extra money from school and remembered i really wanted a heli! :D
thanks guys for all the help!

Eflite makes a 2in1 that has main/tail esc and a mixer. It works well enough for $37 or so. Other than that, you can mix it with a programable TX.
I would just wait for the parts, replace them and keep the bird stock until you learn everything you can (which is allot) with it and then spend the $$ on a new/better machine w/o a motorized tail. JMO though! Once you start upgrading the BCP, its a never ending process until everything is upgraded and you have a buttload of $$ into what will always be a loose tailed little heli.
I'm going throught the same thing... Been flying planes both nitro & elect for 25 years.
Went to the helicopters because a friend of mine gave me his older style HELICAT with a nitro engine and that got me thinking..
Mistake 1: I bought the CP PRO.... however, i would agree with the previous post that if you can fly this thing you could fly anything.... however, i'm also in that beginning stage. I have a nice training program on the computer (clearview) that helps but it's nothing like flying the CP PRO.... like you, it's all over the place... i can't control it at all. My last BOOOF! fried the 3-1 controller and bend the main shaft. $40-$50.00
So, last night i went out and purchased a T-REX 450SA as some buddies said this helicopter is really nice to learn on, and it has upgrade paths for 3d... I'll just be happy to fly and hover.
Good luck and let us know how it goes, i'd be interested to see if you can get the CP PRO to fly and learn on it.

thanks guys i appreciate it.. but i do have to argue a little bit... id rather not go back to the original 3 in 1.. probably the 2 in 1 tho but i have the stock TX can i program a mixer with it? mind you i just learned exactly what a elec and mech mixer is for the heli. im sure the gyro in the stock 3 in 1 is trash for because the helicopter can break dance better than some of my friends!
as for you hef yea ill let you know.. i think possibly my uncle is gonna go in on the parts with me.. hes really into this hobby aswell and well.. i prolly wouldnt have gotten it if it was just me to play with it.
have a good one guys!

If you really want to learn on the CP, seperate electronics for everything is much better. a good gyro, JR770 or Futaba GY401, both will fit. Brushless motor and ESC, 3-5 amp brushed ESC for the tail, Direct Drive tail setup. Good LiPo battery. Your looking at another 200-300 dollars for it all.
Another option would be to get a Trex off of e-bay, the T-Rex hands down is a MUCH better flyer and easier to learn on than a Blade CP.

A little advice from all my mistakes with the Blade CP. After 2 years of messing around and crashing the Blade this is what I have done to make it stable and help with my learning. 1. install super skids they are awsome and add a bit of stability. 2. Install plastic flat bottom blades, they are much better in the breeze plus very strong. 3. Add one more flybar weight to each side (outboard next to the one behind your flybar paddle) so that will give you three weights aside. I bought 2 common sence RC batteries 8C 1250Mah for cheap. I thought 8C was going to be weak but it has turned out to be awsome far better than the e flight li-po, long flight times. These upgrades have made my blade a totally different Heli, but it is still a little bugger to fly. When you move up to a 450 size heli you will be shocked on how much eaiser it is. Good luck!!!!!!

hey bro thanks for the advice.. i was wandering tho ive seen some neet kits to go all aluminum and with belt drives.. which is leading into my question.. what makes the blade so crappy? the size? inbalanced?
i just picked up some plastic flat bottom blades.. a telebee gyro and the 2 in 1 for the CP. i may have prefered to get a GY401 or something but i wasnt dishing out the cash this time and those are what my uncle finally decided on.

The tail rotor is what makes the blade crappy. The controllability of a radio-controlled helicopter is very much dependent upon the stability and authority of the tail. The little motor back there just isn't up to the task. While it's possible to get it "working", the labor and dollars to do that isn't worth the result.

I totally agree with boro!!!! the Blade is a nice little Heli if you want to spend a S@#$ load of money on it. Buy a 450 size heli, don't make the same mistake I did.
I don't even think I will invest in a HH Gyro for this thing cause the tail is so crappy. For the 2 or 3 hundres you would spend on upgrades (head and BD tail) buy a 450 size heli.
For now I have 2 blades set up well for me, Flat Plastics-Li-PO's-Superskids-9 tooth pinion on stock main motor and as hi a head speed I can get. With this set up I can do hover and forward flight in a light wind without crashing the damn thing. I work on my advance flying skills with a Trex cause I got so pissed off crashing the Blade. Good Luck!!!!

Don't waste your money on upgrades until you learn how to hover at least tail in and both sides...
1. Get a SIM
2. follow Radd's flight training
You will be hovering in 10 battery packs, with NO damage...

ok awsome awsome thanks guys.. i am protesting yet again i do want the cp to work well for because its prolly never going to be layed to rest so someday ill invest enough to get it working best for the lowest price. i figure a cheap HH gyro woouldnt be a bad start since i need to buy those electronics right now anyway UNLESS someone can assure me that e flights electronics arent so crappy that they will be dying on me again anytime soon.
and guys for sure... thanks for the help i know know exactly how i want my heli set up and what to do with it all..
have i mention that i have a SIM now? G3.5
ive been so busy i havnt even opened it yet but i do wander do i have to use theyre controller or could i hook my TX up via the trainer port? if no anyone heard of any patches or emulators to make it go?

^^Best advice in this thread.^^
Forget the mods.. work with what you have. Small tweaks have made a difference on my BladeCP. (read the forums out there specific to the blade cp) There is A LOT of info available.
It's a little touchy but, you'll get used to it. Patience will save you money.
That money you save can be put towards a trex or a larger heli in the future.
...and have fun :)

this was my first heli,,,and learned on it,,what i did was to move the links on the servo arms in two holes. This will tame it down, and it will make it easier to control,,it worked for me,, i have super skids and flat wooden blades,,it flys nice

Keep a record of your investment with the CPP. Eventually you will get up to the cost of a Trex, and it won't take long. Been there done that, wish I hadn't wasted the money on something that couldn't fly. IMHO..... just my 0.02 worth

But if you keep that record as I did ,I learned that I could have put a TREX 600 in the air for what I wasted on the CPproBS model:mad:

haha haha hahaha
thats good stuff. i agree aswell but you guys are dealing with two really stubborn people.. and well as of now and prolly will stay this way the only new things so far is the HH gyro even if it does or doesnt help out as long as i dont kill it ill prolly use it in my next heli.. justified hopefully. and my uncle is also in on the heli and well it is impossible to tell him what you guys are saying. AHH so all in all i and you guys are stuck with me and the CP for a while. might as well make the best out of it i can for now.. i had a JOB OFFER TODAY! i might be moving and well ill make enough to build a million trex600's well not really but im young so no money is ALOT.
my girlfriends uncle works for a company that actually builds helicopters and shes been speaking with him kinda behind my back and they have a super low end pee on position open.. wow cant wait dream job just shot me in the face how bout that!! IM GONNA BUILD ME A REAL HELICOPTER HAHA.. yea years away but still im so excited everyone is hearing about this.
