How much difference does C rating make in a 10S system, is there a noticable difference between 18C and 25C batteries like there is in a 6S system?

Work with 37 volts for a near-fully-charged 10s..

An 18C pack would be good for a continuous 18*C*37 = 666*C watts
A 25C pack would be good for 925*C watts.

Consider a 4000 2P pack: 18C works happily at 2.7 KW; 25C could work happily at 3.7 Kw. These are 3.6 HP and 5.0 HP respectively.

What a difference!

This assumes, of course, that you are able to find a motor/ESC that will extract just these amounts of power from the respective packs..

So I am currently running about 3 HP in a 7.5 pound trex. I am guessing the 600 3D weighs 6.75 pounds wiith pwer to weight ratio gain of about 10%. And the 10S power system adds the option of increasing the power by another 28%. I'd like to add both runtime and power. The 10% gained in the weight difference may be enough power, Anyone else have a target for power for their 600 3D?

Speaking only for L14, I know that a lot of 10S setup's run on the limit. I use to fly 12s ( till I hit the deck..) and 12s seems to give rather longer running and cooler setup. For a 6003D, I would not use anything else but a 12S setup. Maybe 4350 25c or 5350 evo lites which are 20 or 18C. The 5350 would give you 10min's plus, with a cool running setup, which means even if you pay more for your packs, you most likely would use no more than 70%, which should increase the live on your pack a lot. Unfortunately, the 5350's won't fit the L14, and the flight time would turn my head into even more yelly, as I found out this weekend. 2 6S packs also charges nice on any 6 to 10s charger in parralel, provide you have enough amps, so no special 12s charger needed.

LOL!!!! Damn, that was depressing.

As much as physically possible!! :D

I happen to hve some 6S evolites. I have considered removing one cell from them and making 10S packs from them, will a 5350 fit? I still don't know if the 17C rating will work. The Logo 600 is the lightest by far so power to weight it may not need 25C.

Your c requirements completely depend on what motor and gearing you're using.
Also what's your flying style ?

If you're banging the sticks with a neu 1912 1y, z50-800, hacker A50-14s, actro 24-4 etc. you're going to see 80-100 amp draws on the pack. Having a continous c rating that can provide that much makes for best performance (less voltage drop under load) and the most longevity for your packs.

I am currently using 100 amps per a 4 to 5 minute flight on 6S system, which is why I don't use the 17C evolites. I was hoping the higher voltage 10S system would'nt pull as many amps.
Thanks

6s Evolites should be fine in series for 12S. Using more volts on 12s, you do use less amps. I'm using 3700 25C which is about 92 amps consistent. On 12s I'm running very cool. With 12s 5350 evolites, you also have about 90 amps consistent, and that should be well enough. Please don't take an extra cell out. Just use thim in series, like I use my 6s 3700's. You will have a rocking machine! Come to see you already have the packs, just use them.

100 amps on a 10s setup has considerably more "woo-hooo" factor than 100 amps on a 6s setup :D
