Been flying nitro for years - want to get in the electric realm. Just purchased a Mikdao 500 3D and am using a futaba 601 gyro with 94256 tail servo and 251's servos. But I have no Idea what to use for A Speedo, motor and batttery - money is no object - I want the best setup for 3D flying

Kontronik Jazz 55-10-32

FlightPower EVO25 6s 5000

Not sure what motor would be the best for that heli.

EDIT*** A NEU 1910(H)-1Y or a Tango 45-10...... I think the NEU would be better for throwing the heli around.

Motors:

So far here is the gig, in no order and these so far have all been excellent choices.

NEU 1910(H)-1Y // 16T mod.7
ZPower Z30A-1100 // 16T mod.7
ZPower Z50A-1150kv // 16T mod.7, would opt 15T perhaps next round
Hacker A40-10L 1100kv// 16T mod.7
Hacker A40-8L 1300kv// 13T mod.7
Tango 45-10 // 16T mod.7

Now if you are going to stick with 6S, than go with the Kontronik Jazz 80-6-18 esc, that will be the best bar none for 6S L5003D. Cheers. :smokin:

Oh... and run 550 mm main blades, and no larger than 92mm tr blades.

I notice that the 0.7 mod gears are getting pushed here mostly. Are they tougher than the 0.5 mod gear with less stripping?

yes they just have deeper cut teeth. Both m05 and m07 come with the 3D kits now (not the DX)

My personal recommendation, as its what i fly, is the Hacker A40-8L 8Pole with a 15T mod07 gear on 550 blades. 2350rpm. running K&B tails for 50 sized. this gives more power than i could ever want, its just awesome fun to fly. I used to run 500mm, but i dont think ill go back, 92 tails give great tail authority, but i dont mind having a little less power on the tail with so much more power on the head

I think i have got some sub-10g paddles on it too, its great fun, turns on itself.

Enyon,

Where are you seeing the 2350 headspeed at throttle position wise?

15tooth @ 1300kv?? WOW!
RPM at low load: 2790 at 22,8 volt RPM at medium load: 2606 at 20,64 volt RPM at full load: 2423 at 19,8 volt

fixed end point mode of the CC85, 0 degrees pitch, 85% throttle.

Shawn, doesnt quite work like that, remember motors are only about ??85% efficient, gear train isnt 100% efficient either, and im turning 550mm blades, with a flybar. I think the extra drag just works it. i spent a lot of time getting my heli set up as i like, think i tried 4 different mod07 pinions before i found i liked the 15. Its no doubt a set up issue, but it works for me, so whos to complain!!!

Okay I'll start with the 13t with the V-Bar and go from there.

Ok Ian, just seemed like a super high number was all. If it works rock on man! :smokin:
