I will be geting a Dx7 based setup but I got no clue what reciever I should run the 6100 or 7000. Its going to be a 450 based heli.

I'm in the process of prepping a new RC-TEK 450 Sky Shark for it's maiden flight. I used the AR6100. Very small, light and efficient.

6100 is more than sufficient for a 450 sized heli. While it doesn't have the range of the AR7000, you'll lose sight of the helicopter before you lose signal. And yes, it is light as heck.
