I spent midday at MHA. The weather was very fine. Light breezes with the random gusts. Not enough to make the flying tough.
Bobby Watts certainly brought it. He was(is) thrilling to watch. Dennis from Hobby Hangar did some very nice moves with his TRex 600n. Charles was in great form as usual. He was helping out some pilots with advanced flying skills. Beast was there with Bobby but, I don't think I saw Beast fly.
Debian Dog and Will James showed with some other Freaks I did not meet. They made it just before I left. I finally met Will in person.
Doc tried to fly his HUGE turbine scale bird. Alas, there was a problem with the tail which caused him to set it down quick. The landing gear on one side collapsed. Thankfully, there was no other damage.
Most of the usual suspects showed up and everyone was flying great. I saw only one minor mishap when a TRex 450 lost power while inverted. He was back up a few minutes latter.
As usual I lost my nerve to try any of the hot moves I do routinely on the sim. So I did two packs worth of figure 8s and a few flips.
The club had free burgers, brats (sausage, not obnoxious children), chips and water. Over all, it was a great day out.

I was their as well and the flying was great .I ts too bad Doc had problems with his turbine, I was really looking forward to seeing that thing fly. I only flew out one pack today do to being busy taking pics and video of other flyers. This was my first fun fly and it was great.Im looking forward to many more and cant wait to built my 600N this winter. It was great to see such great flyers in person. I have to give Charles a big thankyou for helping m over the last several weeks of tuning my Trex 600E . I never knew what i was missing out on not being in a club full of great people. Cya at the next funfly.:nanabobo

Lots of fun at MHA, thanks for having us. I got to fly Dan's 600, so it was all good.
Everybody there was flying great.
Nice to finally met you John.
Lots of new up and coming pilots like Art and Mark. Yea Baby!!
Bobby Watt, Charles Rosario, Dennis Groves, and many more I am forgetting flew great. Got to meet Joco as well. Cool!!
Boy that was fun.
I tell ya. If you have never been to an event that the HeliFreakers are at... then you HAVE to go. Hanging with the boys (Debian Dawg, ClayK, WillJames) plus Bobby Watts, Dennis and everyone else it was a great time!!
DebianDawg (Dan) and Clay even put the pressure on me... which got me to do my first roll and and loop (well flip really) with my 600N!! There is nothing more intimidating then flying with Dan and Clay in the background hearing
Dan: "Well if you arent gonna bring it, then I am leaving"
Clay: "No man dont worry... do whats comfortable"
Dan: "No forget this, if he aint gonna show us something...."
The two of them are like good cop/bad cop!!! But it made me realize, if you are never pushed outside your comfort zone then its easy to just not progress. So thanks to Dan and Clay for all the encouragement!!!
Finally I have to give a big shout out to the WillJames.... I finally got to meet that man, myth and legend!! That was cool!! I just cant believe he made up all the way from NC!!
Now boys, lets see the vids from the cameras!!

Now boys, lets see the vids from the cameras!!
It was more of a practice day as we do not have the HD cards yet so, we shot SD to tape.. As a mater of fact I did not shoot a whole flight of anyone. Just playing around and learning the camera still. It is a BIG adjustment.
Here is a good snippet of Bobby - Tail slide, touch, crack - 5 Megs Windows format (http://video.helifreak.com/?subpath=DebianDog&filename=Bobby-OpenHouseMHA07-Short.wmv)
I think Will shot the whole flight ;) I got PO'ed with myself and walked off

I think I can speak for Art, Nabi, and myself when i say, Awesome open house MHA! Lots of great flying and great people. The little Rex was in rare form, litterally, half the parts were replaced with ca glue, but it held up. watching art and bobby is always a blast, cant wait to see some tandem(dueling) Heli action from those two.
Mark
i'll try to post some pictures when i have time to unload the camera.
