I am trying to decide which field I should use on my server. There are too many to do in a poll (10 max). So I just listed them here. I will do an informal tally.

airfield; articTundra; desertMesa; farmland; flyingField; freedomPark-winter; lakeside; nightFlight; oldesloe; playingField; sandbar; seaside; sportsHall.

Sandbar... I like the fact that you have limited landing space for both helis and planes. Also, it's a lot of fun dipping a plane's tail feathers in the water during a prophang. Shouldn't work in theory as there's no airflow over the tail anymore, but it does.

I like the airfield, I wonder if we can get helifreak signs put up?

Lakeside is where I have been flying in real life, its my local park and a 2 minute walk from my house

Flying field. The light is less contrasty over more of the scenery.

By popular choice, I am going to change my server to flyingField.

I actually selected airfield so plank guys could have a runway. Also, I like having the airplanes in the background. However, the tally from this thread is flyingField.

Unless there is a massive influx of new voters, the candidate is elected.

Vote with your feet is a term which means; People vote against by walking away. In other words, if they don't like it here, they leave.

I have been running and monitoring two servers. The flyingField server gets almost no connections. The other (currently airField) gets some. It appears to me, with this limited sample--pilots have voted with their feet.

For now, I am going to run lakeside and airField to see which is more popular.

cool. Though it could be just timing, days of the week. How many visitors per day? How long a ssssion per visit? Just curious.

Alas, the software does not currently have any way to save the log. Since I have to work and sleep, I can only get snapshots.

With that caveat, it looks like the first pilot stays only about 2 or 3 minutes unless another one joins. If more than one, up to 2 others will join within minutes. If there are at least 2, most will stay for 10 to 15 minutes. They change aircraft about every 3 minutes.

The master server (PhoenixNet) appears to have problems often. At least that is what I attribute to the inability to connect. It is far too common to have many servers online but, not be able to connect to any of them. Since my connection has proven to be very reliable (Verizon FIOS commercial [not residential]), I don't believe the problem is on my side.
