the 9xII has digital trims on all 4 standard channels. The 9303 has analogue trim on the throttle channel.
Can somebody explain why?

Analog trim makes is easier to shut down engines (nitro or gasser) since JR doesn't have a throttle cut button.

A bit of a pain for us electric guys though :)
Pinecone,
I see you say that the JR those not have a throttle cut button?
How do you mean this, I can cut mine engine bye a flip of a switch!

They do not have a dedicated Throttle Cut function like Futaba has.
They do have a Throttle Hold, which could be set to cut the motor, but then you would not have a way to auto without cutting the motor completely.
Pinecone,
I have the PCM9XII, and I do have a dedicated cut off switch.
I set this one in the THRO TRIM menu, and it will cut the power when the thro stick is below +- %10.
Its the timer/trainer switch.
Its discribed in the manual at page 24.

So when you move the collective/throttle down, it cuts the motor? Doesn't sound like a great idea for a heli. :)
OK, in the 9303 there is a setting in the called the Stick Auto - Auto Cut Setting, that will cut the throttle with the throttle stick is lowered below a set level only when you are in Throttle Hold. And if you set this, you would have to make sure you do't go too low on the stick when autoing, or you would cut off the motor. Like say when doing an inverted auto with a flip at the end.
That will perform the cut, but it still isn't a dedicated throttle cut button like Futaba has.
Nothing like you describe in the 9303 manual that I see.
Hi Pinecone,
It only works in normal mode, and the switch will not work in idle 1,2, or thro hold.
The people of JR ar well aware, we wont like it if the engine cut during a invert
Here I attached the manual, and you can find it on page 38 (42 of adobe reader)
oeps its to big... maybe I can e-mail it to you its around 4 mb (pdf)
I Don't know about the futaba, how it works? will it work only when you are in normal mode?
Here in Taiwan almost all people use it including the people from Align, so I do think it made for it, and very usfull.
Maybe its somethink for you to tryout :YeaBaby:

No attachment.
But basically that is another difference between 9303 and 9xII.

One other big difference is that because the 9XII has digital trims all round you can also set the radio stick mode in the main menu, handy for all you mode 3 & 4 flyers, as well as the mode 1 & 2 boys.
