can someone explain to me what the differences are from the stock gaui gear sets to the revco gears? what do all the #'s mean and what would be the advantages of using the revco gears. i have read a lot of posts on the gears but not sure i have gotten the answers i was looking for. other that these revco gears being maybe stronger than the gaui gears whats the reason to use them? hope my question makes sense. thanks

This my understanding of them and may not be exactly correct. First they are made of a tougher material, which isn't as big of deal now that Gaui has improved their material with the "ok" gears. The main or final drive gear is the same tooth number and tooth pitch as the stock gear. Heres the big difference, the first gear or pinon gear is larger diamenter and has more teeth with a different tooth pitch or tooth pattern. I believe it is 68t vs Gaui's 42t. The reason for this bigger more teethy gear is to allow a wider range of pinons to be used that is made for another line of heli's. I don't remember what brand heli's the pinons are made for, seems like it Leptons maybe, but anyway Readyheli has these pinon's for the Revco gear ranging from 18t to 26t.
Anyone feel free to correct any errors and hope this helps.

Yes and here is the math I did showing the ranges taken from the stick post above
OK I got the gears from adrian and while sitting down to decide what pinon, I decided to do the calculations on the NEW gear ratios with this set.
So you all know how to do it
(maingear/auto gear) x (secondary/pinion) = gear ratio
So for instance the stock Gaui gears with 14T piunion are:
(61/19) x (42/14)+ = 9.63 ratio
For the other Gaui pinions the rations are:
14T = 9.63
15T = 8.98
16T = 8.42
Also thew Gaui pinions with the Gaui 61T the ratios are:
14T=13.99
15T=13.05
16T=12.24
Now Adrian's new secondary is 68T which might shock some folks but do not worry it is smaller in diameter than the 61T gear but larger than the 42T.
So here are the new ratios with the pinons from 18T to 26T
Note: 24T and 26T are not supplied by Adrian. You can use Hirobo Pinions from the lepton for 24 and 26.
18T = 12.12
19T = 11.48
20T = 10.91
21T = 10.39
22T = 9.91
23T = 9.48
24T = 9.09
26T = 8.39

Hi Bob, thanks for getting that info out!
FYI, due to popular demand I now make 24,25 and 26T .6M pinions to fit the Leptons and Hurricane 550's running my 68T .6M reduction gears.

What about some smaller gears... 16t and 17t for folks running HV setups?

You are the first person to ask for smaller than 18T pinions. I need to make the rears in batches of 100 per size so if there are 8S and 10S Hurricane pilots out there tell them to contact me and I will look inot making them.
