I know I'm doing this wrong, but...

I have the V-Bar head, and am setting it up without the V-Bar unit itself, as it doesn't arrive for a couple more days. So I went ahead and set it up as 3-servo 120 degree on my DX7, so I could get the Jazz programmed.

When I do this, and with the links set up as described in the manual, at mid-stick, I've got a solid 4-5 degrees (harder to guess/measure w/o a flybar for reference) of negative pitch. I tweaked the long links down a couple turns to 44.5mm, but still a lot of negative.

I realize this is OK for programming, since negative isn't a bad idea anyway, but is it normal to have this much negative at mid-stick?

I would try and get at 0 degrees of pitch at mid stick.

I had about the same running 9451's on the cyclic. I had in INCREASE the lenght of the long rods to 47.5 to get zero pitch at mid stick.

With any heli the bottom line is to acheive zero at mid stick, adjust links according to that, alot of times manuals will be off, sometimes by a few turns if not more... It certainly is always good pracitce to ensure you have equal amount of pitch throughout the collective movement.

Thanks, all. I just wanted to make sure after being told how perfect the link setup was from the retailer who sold it to me, I thought I must have done something wrong.

I extended the two long links until I hit zero (boy that's hard to read), and got 47.5mm instead of 45 for the gap between the plastic bits. I've got S9452s, so that matches, with even some precision!

Of course, now I've just found that my S9256 for my tail is apparently DOA. No ESC setup for me!
