I just want to start by saying that Finless should be charging for his knowledge. Without his videos I would have never been able to get everything setup correctly.

I have never flown anything except a Helimax Axe CP that I put a 240 gyro on. I just finished building my Trex 600 probably about a month ago and spent the last 4 weeks with final setups and radio programming. I never really knew how complex these things are.

Today I was ready for the first spool up to see if I could get it light on its skids and make sure everything was functioning correctly. I have to say this thing is very intimidating and much louder than I was expecting. After the initial wobble on startup it was very smooth so I decided to lift it off the ground. I don’t think I have ever been that nervous. Everything went perfectly and now charging for my second flight, I mean hover.

I do have a question…to get rid of the wobble on startup, I really had to crank down on the blade grips, is that ok?

Thanks Finless for all your knowledge!

What do your throttle and pitch curves look like? If your head speed is too low, it can cause wobbling, so you may need to bump up the throttle curve below take-off level.

Wobble at first spool up is normal until the blades find their CG. One way minimise it is to make sure the blades are not to tight ie with the blades extended hold the heli by the skids and turn it on it's side. The blades should stay in position, a tap should let the blade fall.

Another is to extend/pull the blades out before spool up

I have the JR X9303.

Throttle 0-25-66.5-80-85.5-90-100

Pitch 40-43-46-50-66.5-83-100 This gives me +9/-3

Also my blade tension is much much tighter than you have mentioned. This was the only way I could get rid of the wobble.
