Interesting here...

Castle Selecatble BEC (http://www.readyheli.com/Castle_Creations_CC_BEC_10_Amp_Switching_Regulator _p/csem0005.htm)

If I understand this correctly, the way it looks, is if you solder the red and black wires, to the corresponding red and black wires on your gyro leades, that you could theoretically use this to regulate down to 5.X what ever volts...and run direct 2s lipo? But of course this only has 1 set of leades, so maybe you could somehow make them tap into both sets of leads, and it would take care of the gyro? Yes no?

I already have an 8v set up, but this could be an alternative available to the public? :YeaBaby: :thinking

I've been wondering about this, myself. Rather than running a 2-cell setup, how about using a 3-cell batt, then using two switching regulators. You could run a regulated 8V to the head and 5V to the gyro and maybe throttle servo. Splitting the power up wouldn't be too hard with a bus board of some sort.

My main question is what about the voltage on the signal wire? Does the receiver output a signal with a regulated voltage or whatever voltage is on its power bus? And what would happen if you fed a servo/gyro 5V on its power line, and 8V on its signal?
