Ball Link Clarification

I was watching finless videos and he said the ball links are directional. Should the side of the link with the marking go in or out.

correct..but if you get links without " marks" on them here is an easy way to tell...push link onto ball (not all the way till it snaps on ) then flip the link over and try it...whichever way it went onto the ball further is the correct way ( this is looking sideways at the link/ball while doing this) try this now with links that have marking and you will get an idea what I'm talking about..they don't go on much farther but it is noticeable ,
