I just had my maiden flight on my battle wing. It is just as the title said. It is fun to fly and is a nice distraction from the copter

Cool, I just picked up the storm version of the swift 2. I'm setting up the electronics now but have not yet decided on a motor. I added some caron rod like you did. The only thing I question is gluing the motor mount right to the top of the wing. It just doesn't seem durable enough. did you use hot glue to install the mount?

I used Goop for the whole build after searching around for the best foamy glue. I will stick with it from now on because it stays flexible unlike CA. I am not worried about the motor mount, I think the foam will break before the mount breaks off.
I don't know if you are going to use a 3 cell or a 2 cell batteries, but my plane is a little front heavy with a 3 cell and I can not move it further back because of the CF rod. So watch your CF placement.
I am running a 2oz 950kv motor with a 3 cell right now and it has plenty of power to go endlessly vertical until it is out of site and fast. I am not 100% on the gas in the vid. I still want more speed though so I ordered a 1.5oz 1300kv motor. I hope to try the new motor this weekend and will report my findings.

I'm picking one of these up just to give a go at flying a plane....after heli's how hard could it be....right?
anyway, what size 3cell are you using.........is a 3c 1300 too big for this wing?
also what size cabon rod did you use? 3mm?
