Hi all,
I am looking at getting a Trex 600N and was wondering if anyone had any links to sites/videos that give a basic rundown on using a nitro heli. I currently have a trex 450 and like the idea of longer flight times that you get from nitro, however I really have no idea where to start on learning about engines and maintenance.
I would like to know how the engines work, what expected maintenance I will need to do and all about the fuel and how the heli works differently than an electric. Sorry for the basic questions, however my knowledge in this area is just that, basic... :)
I had a look at finless' videos on building the thing and it seems to go together fine, however as I said my knowledge is pretty small here so I have no idea as to the governor, starting it, glow plugs, and all of that kinda thing

Oh yeah, and one last thing, with the 450's it is pretty common knowledge that a good setup is a 401 gyro with a 9650 tail servo and 65mg's on the cyclic.
Is there a similar stock recommendation for the 600N which is the same solid/common setup as the 450?

401/9254 is tough to beat for the price. if you're not doing a lot of high-delta backwards flight, it will be great. for the awesome tail holding needed for the backwards stuff, the gy611/9256 is top shelf....but, you'll pay for it. also, lots of praise for the logictech gyros. but, i'm not sure which servos to use with them.
on cyclic i really like the futaba 9451s. if you're a hitec kinda person, the 6965s are great. but, the new 'best' seems to be 8v (2s lipo direct) on the JR8717s. but, you need to come up with a stepdown to 5v for the gyro.

Hi Guys,
I have been having a look around and like the look of this package here...
http://www.rcmachine.no-ip.com/product-package.php?pid=589
I got my trex 450s CF from them originally and they are quite good to deal with, however the servos, batteries, and gyro from the original kit I thought were junk and have now been replaced with better parts.
Is this kit here much the same as the 450, or are the parts actually good and won't need replacing?
Can a GY401 handle a trex600 for a begginer?
Or am I better off getting this one?

I am in Australia so I will be getting it mailed in so using a US dealer has no advantage to me, unless of course they are better priced :)

The 600 doesnt need all that alum. Plus the pro comes with a glass canopy and alum head button. I dont like the looks of that muffler either.
I would try and see if you can build your own combo.
600 kit pro or sport, its up to you. I have the sport and the only thing I would like to have is the glass canopy. Other than that I love my 600N.
Os 50sx is a killer motor on 30% cool power.
Align pipe. Just got it and runs awsome. Sounds mean too.
401/9254 is a great combo. Put it on, easy to setup and forget about it.
Then just pick your servos and radio.
A govenor will make a world of diffrents when it comes to setup. Makes it almost as easy as an electric to setup.
Hope this helps

Thanks for the reply there :) I will try to change over to a glass canopy and a Align muffler on the kit, I will get a governor as well :)
How do the servos in the kit seem?
