Almost lost my Evo today!!
I went out at lunch to a nearby field and fired up my Evo. I got her in the air for all of one and a half laps of the field when she started twitching violently, I had intermittent control and was somehow able to get her back down on terra firma. I though I had lucked out big time but as I got closer I could see the tail blades laying in the dirt next to it, turns out that as I was trying to arrest the forward motion (while it was doing this funky twitching thing) I landed a little tail first and my tail rotors dug in the dirt and ripped themselves apart. I should count myself lucky, I was this close (holding two fingers together with about a 1/16th gap in between) to losing the whole ship! Replacement parts will only be a couple of dollars but it's the down time that's gonna kill me!
I think I suffered from some interference on my radio, it certainly behaved that way with the intermittent control I had. If I had been using a PCM radio instead of my PPM radio it would have shut off into failsafe and I probably would have lost the ship completely. Another curious thing is that I now have a little tiny chip on the tip of one of my main blades... What do you guys think?
