One of the balancing wires of my TP 3S 2100 came off (see pictures). No crash, no abuse. My CellPro 4S started to complain about this battery (error 28). When I checked the wires, I found this the white one came off.
Do I have any recourse? This is a relativly new battery (less than 10 charges) that is in a great condition otherwise.
Thanks,
Kam

As far as repairing it yourself, I wouldn't have a clue.
I know from experience that Thunder Power stands behind their products:kiss and would probably replace the battery immediately if it is still in warranty.
My TP2100 developed a leaking cell and they replaced it the next day.

Do not try to repair it yourself. They're really good about replacing batteries. Just go to their website and fill out an RMA form once you send it to them they'll get your new one in about a week. I've been very pleased with them.

I just looked at the info sheet they sent with my new battery and unfortunately they only warranty their batteries for 90 days from the original purchase date.
I guess if you don't have trouble for 90 days then you can assume the battery is good.;)

I've made that repair on two of my TP packs. I don't want to assume you can do it but, I will tell you what I did.
Carefully cut away the shrink wrap, tape and protective shielding as close as you can to the tab the wire broke off of.
Strip and tin the wire as needed.
Using a 30 watt iron and a steady hand, solder the wire back on.
Remove a wire next to the white one and the white one from the connector. DO NOT LET THEM TOUCH EACH OTHER! You may want to tape the ends so they won't touch each other. Slide a piece of shrink tube down the 2 wires. Put them back in the connector and shrink the tube.
My repairs held up fine. I did not try to charge them through the balance connector. So I don't know if my solder joint would have been strong enough for 2+ amps.

Thanks jrohland. I think I will send it back to TP. They charge 50% more than similar batteries such as this one http://www.fmadirect.com/detail.htm?item=2210§ion=69 (the other kind if batteries I am using) so hopefully they will stand behind their product.
Interesting that you mentioned soldering the white wire inside the battery. The disconnected end does not seem to have any trances of solder, just a striped wire. I assumed that it is crimped inside the battery and that the crimp did not hold.

90 days, but i just sent in an rma for a battery that is almost one year old with a puffed cell, and they replaced it NO CHARGE!
they are the best at customer service by far of any company i have ever dealt with.

I had the same problem with one of the little 1320's I use in some of my planks. Cut off the shrink wrap, peeled back the strapping tape, soldered the wire back on, retaped it, and replaced the shrink wrap with some bright green stuff I had laying around. Now it's my "stealth" battery, LOL. If you know how to solder, no problem, just be careful not to let anything short out.
Like I always say, if it ain't broke, fix it 'till it is. ;)
