I got the heli lightly used, the week before last... but I have been so busy I hadn't had a chance to do more than assemble it/ install RX. I hadn't even spooled it up yet.
It is an XES from readyheli... with the upgraded 1100kv motor, carbon blades, 821 servos, 401/ 9254, align 75a ESC, and an align 5a BEC powered with a 2s lipo. It also has the 600 tail mod on it.
Sunday there was a funfly in DE... that had some really good pilots coming to it from all around the NE... and that was the day she saw the sky with me at the controls for the first time.
I was lucky enough to have a pilot from Team Raptor helping me dial it in.
We spent about 2 hours treaking the CCPM to the last degree, checking & setting up the pitch (we decided to start me @ 9°), programing the radio, adjusting the 401, and tracking the blades (which were pretty much right on from the start)... and then we set out to fly her.
My other heli is a 450se, which I like ALOT, but this is now my favorite bird. It is just more stable in a hover and flight.
I could go on about little adjustments through-out the day (gyro, head speed, etc.)... but let me tell you about the last flight on her at the end of the day.
I put a fresh set of 4250 FP Evo lite batteries in... and then I asked the pilot that helped me, to take it up and ring her out... and that he did!
Guys... this thing was amazing. He started with a very, very quick vertical climb, and then the show started. You name it... he was doing it... and the heli was handling it no problem.
There was also a Team MA pilot hanging/ helping us through-out the day, and he was standing with us for this last flight.
I have to say that this heli surprised all 3 of us. They were saying nice things about her. All day long I watched some of the very best 3D helis in the world... with some of the very best pilots in the NE at thier controls... and this Hurricane held it's own and looked damn nice doing it. It may not be the same quality level of a Stratus 90, but it is a nice machine for the money!!
