Oh man, I wanna try the YS out next. When I do this motor in, thats my next motor. I was thinkin about ordering the mount yesterday but when I looked to see price at HeliProz, it was out of stock...So maybe next time. Where are you ordering your motor from, I remember seeing someone had them in stock.
I'm telling you man, I love the Knight 50..I thought about divorcing the wife and marryin' it, but I don't know how I'd explain that to my kid...But seriously. I made a mistake and didn't do a good preflight check on my helicopter. I should have seen it through the canopy, but I didn't ....One of my servo screws backed out where I evidentally didn't have it tight. Hit the ground pretty good...Broke one blade Other is fine believe it.. Boom strike. Probably Spindle and mainshaft not sure yet waiting on parts before I change em out. And a blade grip...Nothing else damaged...I did somewhat auto it down to like maybe 15 feet when the blade struck the boom and it fell dead from there. Even killed teh motor in the air and didn't even hurt main gear...If that were my raptor........ I won't even go there....Not hating...Just tellin it like it is...Much Love for the Knight 50...

oh man, sorry to hear about the crash. Thanks for reminding me to do a quick pre-flight tooo.

As for the YS, its out of stock everywhere. I think I'm just going to go with what available and get an OS Hyper 50.

Thanks Dan. This has been a major project. Unlike the Raptor e550 that was sooo much easier to build. But then gain it is also very fun cause now I get to mess with a real engine.

Hopefully if everything goes right, I'll have this sucker ready to fly for a Funfly we got this Sunday!!

Get a "nitro friend" to help you out first time starting it and 4-5 tank though the motor before the funfly so she is all broken in and tuned.

Good luck!

Man thats lookin good!!! So did you have any trouble setting up the head on it for your first time? What kind of battery system you have on that? Can't wait to see it in action. Your gonna love it... I haven't seen those blades before. I think alls I ever get are g4 Pros. I was gonna try out a different set this time. V Blades a little to much $$$ :thumbdown:for me.

The head was really easy, due to me building like 6 heli's already and looks really sharp. For a battery I'm using a FlightPower EVO Lite 2500mah 2s that should give me hopefully 4 flights before recharging. The blades you saw are the new Mavrikks G5 Pro's. I think I'm one of the first people to try them. From what people say they are way better than the older G4's in being more stiff for hard 3D and they were only like $74 bucks at HeliProz.

BTW, I took off the crap Knight landing gear and threw on some Raptor gear instead. Looks HOT now.
