Can someone tell me the height the swash should be at center stick? I want this dimension for initial setup. Thanks! :smokin:

It not really important what height the swash is at center stick. What is important is that all the links and rods are centered at mid stick and that you have enough positive and negative pitch range (mine is at +12/-12) at 100% and 0% throttle in idle up.

Also if you can find a swash plate level tool, it will make the job smooth!!

Like expertzx said in his post, you want the rod's and links at center and good pitch at both end of the stick.
I also am running +12/-12 pitch!!

fwiw...

I set up the swash to a level that causes the washout arms on the base to be parallel with each other...Then build links to suit from there...

You might want to lengthen the rods going to the swashplate a little, the swashplate hits the frames when i have full negative pitch and add aileron with 13 degrees of pitch. If your not going to use much pitch it will work fine with the lengths in the manual. DOUG

While the exact height may not be crucial, you do want the swash at 0 pitch to be roughly midway on the mainshaft between the retaining collar and the washout block if you plan to use the full pitch range (or close to it) and have equal positive and negative pitches. The suggested lengths in the manual for the links from the bellcranks to the swash are pretty close. I would just use those, set your radio to mis stick and set up the head for 0 degrees making sure everything in 90 degrees. Then check positive and negative pitch ranges to see if you can get /-13 or 14 degrees without hitting the collar or washout block. If yes, you're fine. If you are hitting the collar before getting to - 13 or 14 degrees or if you are hitting the washout block before getting to +13 or 14 degrees, you can adjust the bellcrank links to move the swash in the necessary direction. I really think though that if you use the lengths suggested in the build manual that you will be fine.

So what is the length od the three links (that go to the swash plate) , so that we could have +-14?

Thats the main question! And that would answer the topics question exactly!!!

68mm overall length, and you should be good for 14 degrees

I guess I need to rephrase the question.
I want to make a swash setup tool that goes between the swash and the upper frames or top bearing block. I want to to use it to make it easy to setup the links at the right distance at mid stick/ 0 pitch. I know several companies sell these, but I would like to make my own. Thanks !

Make the 3 links 68mm long and then measure the distance from the swash to where you want the leveler.
