what head speed do you want to run... and what batteries are you running? how are you flying it?

Just cruising this 550 around the yard and looking for longest run time.
2100 3s x 2
2200 3s x 2

If you are running the stock 890kv motor and the stock gears... the 14t seems to be the most popular choice for all around flying with out 3D.
If you don't mind a lower head speed (just hovering and forward flight)... and want more flight time... get a 13t. readyheli.com just got them in stock... that is the first I have seen them available in the States.

Sorry about that... if I had read your title closer... I would have realized that.
I am not 100% sure on that motor... I have that motor also... but I am running the Revco gears in mine... on the Revco 24t pinion.
go to readyheli.com - and check out their head speed calculator.
If you are doing just casual flying... you can put 1700 (or maybe even 1650) as the head speed in it... it depends on the style you want to fly it at.
I just down graded my motor for more flight time. I got a stock 890 kv motor from readyheli... to help extend flight time when using my 2200 batteries. I haven't tried this yet with my Revco 23t pinion.
Basically lower HS and lower motor KV is what you need for longer flight times with those 2200s... and an easy style of flying it. Look around here... there are some threads that talk about it. There is one called something like - power sytems for the rest of us (or something like that) - that is focused on this. You will recognize it... because it has allot of posts in it. It should only be 3 - 5 pages back or so.
Your stock gears are 42 & 61 tooth.
For the 1100kv motor to have longer flight time wihtout 3D,
16T/61T with 75% throttle may bring you more than 5min.
15T/61T with 75% throttle, I think may close to 6min but not sure the gyro still able to hold the tail.
I have tried 14T/42T with 75% throttle on stock 850kv motor, which end up having about the same HS as 16/61T with 75% throttle on 1100kv motor and my flight time was about 6min.

Thanks for the tips, I have a 14/41 on the heli now and I will try the 13/41 this weekend.

I dont know if you guys check your headspeed this way but my Hurricane with the 1100kv motor and 13/41 gearing produced a headspeed of 1750rpm at 50% throttle 0 to maybe 1 degree pitch. After that the heli gets real light on the skids its best that I put the tach away. I expected it to be less at this throttle/pitch position.
1750rpm may be good for casual flying.
You may want to try 65% flat for the throttle and turn on governor so that you will have constant HS.
As long you pull the stick above 50% and before it start to lift and it's already in the 65% zone, tach it now as the ESC will maintain the same HS before and after the load.
You may want to adjust the 65% according to the HS you want.
