Finally got my newly Vbared 500 out today. Got 2.5 flights!

First two were mainly setting rpm, hover, testing everything. Did a bunch of hovering and made a couple of changes. Last flight started off with a couple flips some rolls, etc. Brought in for a minor adjustment. Took off and at about 75 feet, no more power... Made a quick 180 and auto'd in downwind. Landed fine, no damage.

My Neu 1910 has the shaft loose from the stator. Bummer, it only has about 8 flights. Looks like I have to send it back to have it repaired.

It flew great, very responsive, yet in control. A bit flaky on the ground until it gets in the air, gotta work on that. I think with some tinkering and a few tweaks, I'm gonna like this.

I have another Neu 1910 1.5y coming Thursday, so should get more time after that. Sure hope the loose shaft isn't common on these motors.

Glad to hear you saved it. Congrats on getting the Vbar setup, it look like quite a process.

Thanks, it is so different. I was a bit paranoid about the Vbar setup, I spent a lot of time learning and experimenting with it on the bench. In retrospect, I probably over analyzed what was needed, but it made me comfortable.

I still need to do some tuning/tweaks as soon as I get a new motor.

From my incredibly short V-Bar experience, I think they really really don't like the ground. Get off it as soon as you can - I don't think you can tweak that out very much.

As my brother first told me - the ground is NOT your friend ;)
