Not sure how long, but long. Steve Rogers who works at FlightPower USA installed it for me and I am really happy with the setup. I remove it from the radio to charge/balance it. Pretty snug fit, but does fit.

Wow, I cannot bring myself to carve my name on the tx like you did he he. Just today, I dinged the case bad and it just killed me. I sure hope horizon has replacement casings.

I did that with an Xacto to identify my radio at the Youth Masters event I vounteered to work with Bob Sadler on. It is an event where young kids come to the Joe Nall site and fly 40% airplanes to learn for a day then compete with the planes for 2 days. It is a hoot and really fun event to attend. Anyway, they needed an extra DX so I lent them mine. That was when I worked for FP and we took down a bunch of RX packs to run a couple of the big planes. Loads of fun, highly recommended. I'll always have the DX7, it will be my son's first radio. ;) He will be 7 in Nov.

Hey Will,

How many hours....or should I say days...do you get with the 1500mah lipo? I just finished putting a 2100mah TP 3S in my DX6. I also installed the better voltage regulator from dimension engineering. I was just curious about the life of you lipo.

from the jr 9303 manual, intro page G-26

"Q: Can I use a 3-cell Li-Po pack in my transmitter
A: No. All current JR and Spektrum transmitters are
designed to operate using a 9.6-volt transmitter pack.
A fully charged 3-cell Li-Po pack puts out 12.6 volts.
This higher voltage can overload the power-regulating
transistor causing damage and or failure, possibly
in flight. Many of our customers have experienced
failures using 3-cell Li-Po packs and their use in JR
and Spektrum transmitters is highly advised against.
The X9303 2.4 system will operate for over 15 hours
using a 2700mAh Ni-MH battery."

this is the first I've seen or heard that their transmitters don't like the higher voltages of a 3 cell li battery.

They thought enough about it to include it in the manual ? Hmmmm, maybe I should rethink this. I know there are alot of people flying with LiPo's, has anyone experienced any system failures. I just came across a source for the White JR connectors JST EHR 2, for the radio, so you don't have to cut your stock lead off the pack. RADICALRC.com $2.00 each, just got mine in today.

where can I get one of these 1500 EVO 3s1p packs? I guess this is the consensus for best lipo for the DX7?

EDIT:
just saw this on flightpower's website:
http://www.flightpower.co.uk/Products/splitter.asp?currency=USD&cat=Evo_TX&aspAdv=true&searchWord=evotx

$55.99 for the EVO-TX 1500 3S

says it is a plug and play replacement that comes with the right connector, is this a good deal or is it cheaper somewhere else and better to just do the connection yourself?

Man, that wasn't there the other day when I looked, I just ran across it too. So much for posting my mod.

I ran 6 packs today, and voltage only dropped 0.2 volts---I left the Tx on most of the time. 6 minute flights plus before and after spool down........ so I would say a good hour on steadily and it only dropped 0.2 volts with the FP 3s1p 1500 lipo :noteworthy
