To upgrade or not to upgrade, that is the question

@&#$* it!!! I finally broke down and bought G3.5 yesterday. Yesterday!! Just my luck. Oh well, it will do it's job.

Probably no upgrade here. Based on what I've seen from the list of "improvements", I'm not sure it would be worth the cost of the upgrade and the potential cost of upgrading my PC vs. what I'd get out of it. I'll certainly miss flying with folks on-line as they upgrade and I don't, but I seem to be flying less and less on-line these days anyway.

Might have to break down and get this, if the rebate for g3.5 owners is tempting enough. I've just about worn out my g3 controller :)

What hurts me is I also just bought mine 1month ago, I would bet that the "rebate" is about as low as the shipping to get it back to em.

I bought g3.5 about 5-6 months ago, so I'm really gonna' be on the fence about paying for the upgrade...

Hello Pheonix! I refuse to keeop buying expansion packs and upgrades. As I said on RR if the physic is the same then phoenix will be my next choice.

Played with it at the International HObby show here in Chicago. It's noce looking but in order make it look and run as good as it was at the show I will need to buy a new computer. I just got a new computer two years ago. Either way it's not worth it in my opinion.

Hey wargor, I was also at the Chicago show on Saturday and played with version 4 a little. I like the sim a lot. I'm gonna get it just so I can learn how to fly on Mode 2 dual-stick. I learned on my Century 7 single-stick radio and think that eventually I'll have to give in and learn to fly with two sticks since nobody is making the single-stick units anymore. Might as well practice on something that will cost me less than two crashes' worth of repairs. Luckily, I just upgraded one of my computers a couple of months ago and it should be up to this job...

I though I'd seen a page where it mentioned the engine. The 'old' Far Cry engine, though, not the Crysis Engine.

Oh look, I said Crysis, my bad.

looks like the first batch of G4s went out today (according to posts on the Knife Edge forums). Stock on Tower now says late Nov.

I have no will power. Went to the LHS to bs with my friends that work there and sure enough they had four G4s and I had to get one :D

I didn't realize that G3 would not run on Windows Vista until this evening. Stopped by my LHS and bought a G4, myself. I finally got a sim that will run on my new HP laptop. I wonder how long it will be before the expansion packs start appearing?
