Feast your eyes on these. :D

Gary's dream is now a reality, the Intrepid Turbine performed flawlessly, the hovering and beginning forward flight testing are well underway. I would bet they have about 1.75 hours of flight testing over 12 or more flights so far on the machine with no problems. The Big V's are zinging, and the sound and smell are incredible.

Great work Gary, Troy, Chris and Larry and all of Bergen R/C Helicopters!!! Word is this machine will cost substancially less $$ than anything on the market, it is using the reliable, tough and proven Intrepid Gasser EB airframe which works in scale applications, and best of all this new Bergen Intrepid turbine is roughly 4 pounds lighter RTF and produces 4 pounds more thrust than the other current turbines. Gotta LOVE that!

Overall, the new machine is VERY impressive! :glasses2:

Great pics of the Bergen Turbine, Will...also a great picture of the grin on Gary's face. Both Gary and Troy deserve a tremendous amount of credit for bringing this thing together. What was almost as hard was the four of us keeping our big mouths shut over the past few months as this project came to one helluva' fantastic culmination!

Quite frankly, I have seen a number of turbines fly, however I have never seen one as smooth and agile as this one....Incredible.

Hopefully, time permitting, this evening I will be able to process the video and get it up so everyone who missed this fantastic event in Birmingham, can get a good look at Malorie putting the Bergen Turbine through its paces.

Will, again my thanks for helping get my turbine in the air. A bit of AC power goes a loooong way, shipmate and I appreciate it.

I should have the video I shot done very soon as well. It is the next video I work on. :)

I to am VERY impressed with what Gary and Troy and Bergen R/C Helicopters was able to do with this machine. Completely Awesome!!

It is also the best looking Turbine IMHO as well. Very nice presentation!

Dang Will! Thought I was the only one up this early.

Concur with your comments on the overall presentation! Nice to see an American-made turbine (spelled BERGEN) that is a breakaway from the one-inch pipe skids and 20 lb. weight class. SLEEK, LIGHT and ready to 3D! This is the one that will break all the rules! Now, all you turbine addicts...bring on your questions regarding "can a turbine do 3D," 'cause this one can....and will.

At 15 lbs. and with the Wren Super Sport generating 18 lbs. of thrust, it doesn't take a math major (or math LCDR, if you are Navy) to figure out the potential this machine has. And, slinging Vic's 810mm blades, this thing will be, in the right hands, a monster. The one thing that totally amazed me is how docile and smooth it is, as well. I believe Gary and Bergen have an incredible winner with this one....just can't wait to get my hands on my own.

Laurens...think you are going to have to stand in line!!! Wolfdad and I have dibs in on a couple and I understand at least one or two others have already committed themselves to the purchase! As soon as I saw it at Gary's house about a month ago I told Gary he had a winner :thumbsup2: and I was standing in line to get one!

Sara....Mike Bailey...are you ready to step up production on the Turbine and Gearbox! Think you are going to have quite a business sending to the states now!!!

cheers!

A few guys have made reference to throttle curves?
why play with throttle lag? even a 2 second lag when you need to recover and the rpm's are not there is not good.
