Default New MA Glow Machine Pics from B-Ham

The new MA machine wa looking S-U-W-E-E-T at B-Ham. I got a few shots to share. This and the Spectra G are IMHO the cream of the crop in new heli design on the market today. Check this bad boy out!!

Now that is what I'm talking about!!

Does the Extreme canopy fit it, or will it have a special one just for it. If so, is it part of the upgrade kit?

There was talk of a 50 size bird just like the above 90..... this is one well thought out design.

Looks good BUT ...... COME ON MA get a fuel tank MADE for it or find another supplier, quit robbing the parts bin. That's the only thing that looks like an after thought to me. There is plenty of room to make a taller square tank to fit in there real nice and provide lots of fuel for the THIRSTY 90's. That big ass cap is not needed.
OK ... got that out of my system.

I was wondering about that sideways mount myself...Doesnt look like the muffler will clear it. Clue us in Will...What did Tim say about that? I assume the tank is the normal tank and is the same size.

If riding in a plane is flying, then riding in a boat is swimming. You must leave the vehicle to truly experience the environment.

New tank design?? What for? When doing a conversion, I want to use as many parts that I already have instead of having to pay for more b/c of some little change. I did think about putting a larger one in there since there is more room.
This machine is so new that there will probably be several changes prior to release. I'm just happy that Tim brought it to B'ham to wet our appetite.

Looks like MA is getting their moneies worth out of the the router machine-(used to cut the frames and tid-bits) It is amazing what you can do w/ talented people and equipment in house. Keep up the good work.

Well I got some flying on the final version of this model. I can say that it is a nice improvement to the Fury. Here are some things that I can share.

First the frames are EXTREMELY rigid. I saw some comments that they look fragile and that is very far from the truth. They are much more rigid than the current fury. The layout and linkages are up to date and much improved.

My weight went down. It weighed in at 9lb 10oz with no canopy installed. With a reasonable paint job that means a flying weight of 10lbs or maybe just under. That should be around 12oz less than a standard extreme.

The roll rate is higher due to the CG change.

The parts count is reduced and assembly is simplified. Maintenance is also much improved as access to the motor is much better. The model is a simple conversion from a current extreme or tempest.

The radio gear mounting is really nice. Simple and clean. With a 2800 duralite pack in the designated location the CG is dead nuts at 1/2 tank of fuel. The CG change due to fuel level is very small.

The model is amazingly smooth. The new motor mount system really works well and is very innovative. The fuel is dead calm in the tank and the model is smoother than any other one that I have flown.

As far as flying.... it is smoother, it feels lighter, and it rolls faster. I will post more info in the next few days as I am putting all of the info and pictures up on my web site.

Yeah Both Eric AND the Heli ROCKS!!!!

Ohh and all you guys wanting to know about the canopy, he says the Extreme canopy fits but u gotta cut some off the bottom and some by the muffler so the pipe will fit because the motor is much further forward now. And he also said they are still working on loseing some more weight on the heli and getting a canopy like the Ion for itl Should be WICKED when everything is final. Hell it looks WICKED now!!!!!!

The muffler is not only more towards the front of the heli. But also the muffler is on the left side on the new heli instead of being on the right side as the other Fury series helis. So any current Fury Series canopies would have to be modified to fit on the new model.

Hey I never though of that! I like that better than being on the other side. Im so used to the muffler on my Evo being on the Left side it looks weird being on the right on the Furys. Finally they figured out which way its suppose to go.
