Hi there,
I got pretty short flight time (about 11 mins) of my Spectra G with stock fuel tank.
I'm considering to change it to 16 oz fuel tank #106-52. Is there any pilot convert it yet and is it fit with the canopy without problem.
Appreciate any of your help on it.
Have a good day.

I bought a 16 oz Nalgene bottle from here:
www.karstsports.com
Item code: 53191 - square bottle
Item code: 53196 - rectangle bottle
The square one fits better.

Hi Joe, I purchased some the of the 16 oz. tanks for the spectra for my friend and I. He called me today and said it won't fit without cutting alot from the bottom of the canopy. Is this what you had to do? Could you put a photo on site where we could see how it looks. Will be at Ircha in a couple of weeks look me up. Would be glad to meet you. Will we have RCRC from louisville on our tents or canopys.
Thanks,
Bill

I would think that the Fury tank 106-52A would fit in front of the Spectra.
The Spectra is basically using the Fury/Tempest canopy. So I don't see why 106-52A would not fit. 106-52A holds about 19 ozs of fuel when completely full. The A designates it is the tank that is predrilled for Fury. The tank would be mounted with the lid facing towards the front of the heli.
Just a thought.

There is not enough room in the front canopy to hold the Fury tank. wish there was. The Mech's extend further into the canopy making the Fury 106-52A tank too wide to fit in front. If you turn the motor cylinder forward, now a larger tank will fit behind the motor diectly under the CG. The only problem is then getting the tank to clear under the throttle servo mount, but a larger tank can be installed. IMO the model flys better that way (cylinder forward) anyhow.

John,
Appreciate you letting me know about the Fury tank. I was just looking at the pictures of your Spectra when you first got it from your gallery. I was guessing it would fit. Thanks for clearing that up.
I would think the 14 or 16 oz Dubro tank might fit, those tanks are fairly small in dimensions for the amount of fuel they hold.

I have not tried those tanks yet, but you are probably correct. I will try other tanks in all of the tank positions ASAP and report as I have time.

I'm using Sullivan S429, 12oz tank w/ S484 gas conversion set, it fit perfect.
