I am about to get a DX7 and remember reading something a while back about a software update.
The jist of the post was "if you buy one make sure you get a updated version".
I do not know if it was the DX6 OR DX7.What as me worried is all the models shops close are out of stock and waiting for more. Are the ones left old stock with old software.Advice would be cool.
Also if i go for the DX7 to use on a trex will the DX7 be ok later on in a 50 size nitro with gy401 and govener,or have i run out of channels.

If you can afford the jr9303 2.4 then get it instead, the DX7 is awsome and can be used for bigger heli's. Not sure about the updated version, mine works great, if only my thumbs could do the same!!!!
If I was buying right now I will spend the extra quid and get the JR 9303 2.4Ghz (9 channel).
Thanks

You will be OK with a nitro bird w/ governor on 7ch, but that will be it...
If you want an X9303 anytime in the near future, get your order in... I've got an X9303 on order (and have since September), and I'm hoping it'll show up before Christmas... Horizon is still filling backorders and the list is long...

I would love to get a JR 9c 2.4g BUT i am in the UK and no one as any details on the radio.no name or time of release.i can not wait any longer. The UK always gets things last and me pay the most for it.
So just to make sure 7c will be ok to control gyro and govener.ic and elec.

* There is no software update for the DX7 AFAIK. I think the post was refering to the AR6100 Rx which needed a firmware update. If you purchase an AR6100 Rx make sure it has the v1.2 (or later) firmware. The v1.2 units have a sticker showing "v1.2", the older units do not. Owners of older AR6100 were/are able to send them in for a free upgrade to the v1.2 firmware but did/do not get the sticker.
* There are some exotic nitro heli setups with things like remote mixture control that require 8ch. 99% of people are just fine with either 6ch or 7ch so I think a DX7 is very likely to do everything you need for a long time to come, no need to spend double for the X9303/DSX9 for features and channels you are unlikely to use.

Only a very small percentage of the old AR6100s are affected with the defective software. So even an old stock AR6100 stands a good chance of doing well. I have both the old and the updated AR6100. None of them has given me problems. Of course I manage their voltage requirements.
