OK, this isn't a total review because I have only had this one day. SO far, it seems to do an adequate job of capturing video. Here's the low down. Oregon Scientific Video camera AT-2000, you need a memory card I used an SD 2 GB. This should give approximately 1 hour of video. It is waterproof, comes with several different mounting options and runs on 2 AA batteries. This is installed and easily removable on a Trex 600. The size comparison is beside a 3s1p 2170 FP lipo

Do you have any sample video taken from it? What about the weight? Looks like it mounts very clean.

For specs, see the manufacturer website:

http://www2.oregonscientific.com/shop/product.asp?cid=6&scid=14&pid=709

I think it weighed in at 8oz., that's what I read somewhere, but I can not find it at the moment. I had one chance to do a video, but my blades were not balanced and I got alot of vibration. They did not straighten out until the end of the flight, that's why I did not post a link. Plus it was my first attempt at any video.

Check out a search for Oregon Scientific on You Tube..... I will posst a link as soon as I can get another take done.

And, finally, don't buy from the manufacturer's web site. I bought mine from Amazon.com for $85 and $20 for a 2GB memory card.

I will try to do a video today...... if it doesn't rain

From the web site:

"Take your adventure home with ATC2K, the ultimate waterproof action cam! Weighing in at half a pound (with batteries), this self-contained, hands-free digital video cam delivers full color digital video in 640 X 480 VGA at 30 frames per second - even underwater. "

Ok, here is my first video ever..... it smooths out about 1 minute into the video, but don't expect too much.

Ok, the second one is a little better, but I am not a video person. There is still some shaking in the camera...... I think it has to do with the frame rate.

New finding, with the landing gear I have installed, it does stick down just a small amount below skid level. Maybe 1/8 to 1/4". With stock gear, it should be totally off the ground. As long as you aren't doing hard landings, or on concrete, I think it will be okay. I may try to add a couple of spacers between the landing gear and the frame to boost it up a hair.

Good Job Helicop
I was looking at using one of these it looks like an idea cheap solution without having to invest in expensive mounts etc.. I have tried a couple of different cameras and the wavy appearance of the video is common and can be traced to the heli induced vibration. I played with different mounting solutions and got better results using velcro as it has a dampening effect unlike directly fastening it to the frame. you could still zip tie it loosely for security. The camera I had best results was mounted on top of the canopy but your oregon looks a bit to bulky to go for this method.

Cheers

Just uploaded anoter video with the camera mounted to the rear...... I moved the camera again after this shot, so maybe more video coming. Still testing and I am not liking all the wavey appearance, but what can you do with a cheap camera ?

Ok, the camera handled this pretty good. I finally had a chance to take it out to the field. There is a lot of movement, and Mike spends move time upside down than he does right side up........ Here ya' go !

The resolution on youtube isn't good. Can't really tell. But the colour can be better.
