Send readyheli an email. I sent one and he replied unusually fast. Or you can call and leave a message.

I don't know if they stock the standard motor, but they do carry two upgrade, the 1000 watt 1100kV motor and the 1500 watt motor.
But for a stock motor, I would hit the classsified for someone who wants to sell as they move up.
Make me an offer and I may sell you mine. :)

John doesn't stock the stock motor, but he just happened to have one when I contacted him. It was left over from a kit that was upgraded by the customer. I emailed him (sales@readyheli.com) to find it.

i actually want the gaui upgraded motor. so i guess ill email john and see what he has. which motor should i be looking for the best performance and efficiency? i now get about 6 mins with the stock 850kv motor using 2 3s 2200 packs. i will be upgrading my batteris to accommodate a better motor but still want to get around 4-5 mins. what motor and battery combo would be best? thanks

ok i have been tossing up which motor to get and think i might go the z power motor route. i have tried to read all the info i can on these motors but still dont know which one to get? im looking at either the z20 or z30 motor. not sure about this but do they have diffrent kv's for the same motor? i have seen posts that the z30 can have one kv and then in another post the z30 will have another kv? which motor will be the best for some 3d and flight time? im thinking maybe a motor that i can grow into also would be good. for now maybe i could turn the throttle curve down for normal flying and longer flight times and then once i advance to full out 3d just turn up the throttle curve..is that ok to do and which motor will give that flexability?

The Z30 and Z20 are different class/size motors and both are available in several KV ratings:
Z20 - 980/1470/1720
Z30 - 800/1110
If you want wild power then go for a Z30. For good power and longer flight times go for a Z20. Check out this thread all about Z20/Z30 on H550: http://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=46418

cool... which KV did you select?
what batteries are you going to run it on? pinion?
if you get a chance... let us know what flight times you get... with different throttle curves and flying styles.

i ended up getting the Z30A KV1110. not sure yet of the pinion gear ill use. i also ordered the revco gears. im going to be using 2 aplus 3s 3300 22c packs. i hope the batteries are up to the task? ill keep everyone informed once i get airborn!

what head speed are you looking for?
I am guessing you want a 23 or 24 tooth revco pinion (or even a 22, if you want flight time overall)... depends on your desired HS. You may already know this... but the slower the HS... the longer the batts will last... but it won't be as snappy for more 3D like moves.
I have a feeling those batts will be OK. You should have plenty of amperage for all flying styles (check the max amp draw for the motor). I run some Evolite 4250s that are rated at 18c... and I watched the heli (another pilot) do every 3D move there was, and it did fine. I also have some FP 3200s... and I get 5.5 to 6 min of basic flying around (normal mode)... running Revco gears and a 24t pinion. My motor is most likely not as efficent as the the Z30a you are getting... so I would think you will get the same times, or close to that (hopefully better)... if you are flying it sport style normal mode.
I bought the stock 890kv motor and a 23t pinion for it recently (because I wanted longer flight times)... but I am not sure I am going to install it. After flying this 1000kv motor 4 times now (it was an upgrade motor readyheli used to have) I am pretty fond of it. It is cool to launch it straight up like a rocketship! Even with the heavy batteries... the damn thing is so light... it just pulls and pulls. Reminds me of my 450se... but way more stable while doing it. Fun stuff.
I am thinking of installing the 23t pinion on the 1000kv motor, to see how much flight times improve.
Let us know what you decide and see from your setup... it would be good to compare!
