Hi Guys,

Im new to the heli scene, I have been given a Raptor 50 V2 which has not even been completed yet along with some spares.

There were a couple servo's in the box as well and I was wondering to try save some cash if I could use any of these as a tail rotor servo, as there is still quite alot that needs to be bought in order to get this heli flying.

The servo's I have are: Hitec HS-5625MG
Futaba S3001
JR NES 517 and 507
Futaba S9202

Would any of these be suitable for the tail rotor and which would be suitable for the Cyclic.

Hope someone can help me out here.

Thanks

Check the spec of each servos with either the big servo chart or whith each distributor.

After that, put your strongest one on the collective pitch lever, the fastest one on the tail and ideally the same kind on "aileron" and "elevator" control.

For learning, any of these servo would probably works. even if you don't have a super fast tail servo, you won't really notice it while trying to learn to hover and do some simple circuit. I think I learned all this (and more) with a 401 and a .24sec servo on the tail! :)

Thats good advice above..and I agree with that. To add one point though, I would make as sure as you possibly can the condition of the servo's. Nothing worse than a crash due to a servo failure that was used to save money, and after the crash (hopefully no one is hurt) you end up spending enough to repair the crash plus more........than you would have spent on a new servo. So I would give them a good lookover and test them out as much as you could prior to hovering or flying the model for good piece of mind.

Good luck and have fun
