Hey Guys,
I spent 3 nights just browsing the net trying to find any website that carry an elevated tail system for the Trex450 in which i can use it to create a true scale looking for my Trex's when using Fuselages with such a system like Apache, Huey, Cobra or Blackhawk, finally i found one site in UK which carry these systems made specially for the Trex, so for those who want the scale look for their Trex with raised tail. Here is the link:

Try the German sites they seem to be more active. I know the guy who makes them is still around, he answered my e-mail. I have 1 with 2 spare belts ordered.

The builders page - the on-line store is iffy, but he did respond.

Raised Rex tails (http://www.helituningteile.de/HRU-htt.htm)

This is where I ordered from, just waiting for a confirmation on shipping costs.

Hey Guys,
Well, I ordered 3 myself, and i called them directly, they told me that they are out of stock and they will recieve it in 4 to 6 days, so im expecting them to deliver it to me in 1 week to 10 days. So, dont worry guys, even thought the UK website dont replys to your email, they will have it in a copule of days, so all what you have to do is to order it and reserve yours.

If they don't have English page translation, it's pretty much a waist of time.:kiss

The Causemann site does English and German, I got my confirmation email today. I ordered 1 unit and 2 spare belts, it works out to about $94.00 US shipped to Vancouver BC. I put the original order in on Monday.
Reasonable service and price.

Hightorque hobbies is great to deal with. Ian emailed to let me know when they were in stock and helped me with what I needed for a belt too (which is included in the price) He also helped out with the money exchange rates so I knew what I was spending up front.... fast shipping from the other side of the pond too...

Do we know what brands of fuselages these have been installed on that seem to work well? Want to go with a Cobra or Blackhawk.

So far I know rgalland in this forum used this elevated tail for his Blackhawk scale and another scale flyer installed in Huey UH-1.

Hi just to let you know,

The uplift (?) is short for a Blackhawk, as I have not found a source for longer belts yet I am just getting used to the 4 blade head and current height of the tail. I will post a pic when I get my replacement camera.

rgallant,
I thought the belt came with elevated tail is long enough why are you need a longer belt? also glad to heard the 4 blades is worked good, looking forward your pics.

The 4 blade head is pretty wild, boatloads of lift, but very fast cyclic changes. A tiny stick movement relates to a lot rotor disk movement.

The attached image shows the height issue with the tail.

Did anyone ever find a longer belt..?

Also has anyone tried a belt from a t rex 500 yet..?

They are not as thick as the 600 belts so should fit on to the the 450 size and may have the length your looking for.

Just a thought..

I had a question from another forum about belts & the tail so here it is:

Well the tail was just a joy seeing as it is way up there. I use a flex tube to actuate the tail. It works very well actually. The tail is a custom length with a custom belt.

Tail upswing tube is 13.5 cm or about 5.5 inches in length

Belt is a 546 or 548 tooth, I need to check my spare to confirm.

I ordered from Sterling Instrument, they are a little weird to deal with but very helpful.

The belts are MXL - part number A 6Z16-5460012 to the 546 length the 548 is part number A 6Z16-5480012.
