I just purchased Phoenix and I absolutely love it! I have one question though: Is the multiplayer mode only for LAN / Internet or can you do split-screen with two players on the same computer. The reason I'm asking is because my father would like to fly with me on the sim on my notebook.

Is it possible to do this? I would assume that you'd need another dongle. Are they sold separately? I know this is a long shot, because I realize the potential for piracy, but I just thought I'd ask. If I have to buy a complete copy of Phoenix just to get another dongle I suppose I could do that, but I wonder if plugging two of them into the same computer to use with the same program would even work.

Look in Appendix A of the english manual ( Setting up split-screen mode ).
This confirms that you can have multiple pilots on one machine but each needs a dongle and a transmitter.
It also says it is best to have no more than 2 players connected this way although it will support up to 4 pilots.

Thanks for the kick in the right direction! I never noticed that before. So, the next question is, do I need to buy a complete new copy of Phoenix just for the dongle or is it available separately? I don't see it listed anywhere, just the adapters for other radios.

FYI, I have a DX7 and my Dad has a DX6, but he doesn't own a computer capable of running the program.

The dongles are in effect their copy protection. Unless they made special provision to operate with some other sort of cable, you'd have to buy the package.

Send them an email, they're quick to respond... They're in the UK, so if you ask tonight, you may know by morning.
