Hi
I think I need some help on setting up normal and heading hold on my 6EXHP radio.
Looking at the manual for the gyro, to get the LED off (normal mode) I have to set a minus value i.e. -50. In HH I have set a positive value of +55, any greater and it wags the tail, Is this normal for this radio? Seems a low value.

Following on from the manual to set the neutral position I have hovered the 450 in normal mode to set the trim for a solid tail. However switching to HH, and it piro's. I kinda thought that setting the normal mode first would set the neutral position for the HH as well. As it is I have to use HH only as the trims are very different for the two modes. BTW I’m only at the hovering stage and practicing in Normal is challenging!

I have a fast Servo i.e. S9257 and the delay is set to 10% not sure if it liked the 0% as recommended for fast digital servo.

I am sure I have not set this up correctly, but being a newbie it’s probably the instruction I don’t understand.
Can anyone help with a simple explanation with my radio type?
Regards

First the GY gyro holds very well. So it is not uncommon to have the gains set down in the low 40% range.
Sounds like you have Normal mode setup correctly. Here is what you need to do. Hover the heli in Normal as you have already done. The heli should hover fairly well without too much rudder input ( for instance not trying to turn left or right unless you give a command for it to turn). If all is well that way. Then land the heli. Now take the channel 5 switch on the top left front of the transmitter and flip it back and forth 3-4 times real fast. This will tell the gyro to have the same neutral in AVCS mode that it has in Normal mode. Now you should be able to put the gyro in AVCS mode and fly the heli without it piroing or turning. I would suggest a value of about 45% for Normal and AVCS gain.

Yup that soved the problem, I did flip the switch 3 times but i did not do it fast enough. Rock solid now in both modes.
Many Thanks
