How to change Country on T12Z ?

I have a Japanese version T12Z and I want to change country on Europe.

Don't think he is needing calibration. I know what he is trying to do. I don't know of anyone that has changed it thru the calibration program. That may be the reason Felix does not go into details on the link you posted.

So you basically want him to be a guinea pig? LOL So if it screws up the radio and he has to send it to have it repaired. I am sure your going to send him the money needed for the repair.

Because he has got a Japanese region Tx and he lives in France so wants to change the country to Europe. It's possible - It's his Tx - It's his money so why the negative reaction?? (re your post further on)

Not negative. Just don't understand why he wants to change what the transmitter says. The region coding might be in the transmitter module. Hmmmmmmmmm

David; Why did not you answer Jerome that you think (or know) the region-coding is in the TX-module?
Have you thought about the fact that Jerome might have bought a TX-module for Europe, and now gets the error- message that says module-mismatch?(I assume the 12Z is similar to the 14MZ in this respect)
Hence, he need to change the area in the transmitter? -Could this be possible?????????

Another aspect of threads like this on helifreak, David: Based on the replies you have entered in this thread, do you think this forum will be more active or less active in the future?

I get the mismatch and error messages when I change modules also. For instance switching from 50 mhz to 72 mhz then also 35 mhz and 40 mhz. But soon as I reboot and try it again. It works. My radio is set for USA and 50 mhz. But I have used it with the above modules also.

For example the 72 mhz module from Japan is limited to 10 72 mhz channels. But yet Cyberheli gets there Futaba radios directly from Japan. They sell a 72 mhz module that will utilize all 50 channels. Notice in there ads for the module, it says unlocked. LOL

Also I was asking Why. But never got an answer from the original thread starter what reason he was wanting to do this. No explanation as to what problem he was encountering.

Hmm, seems we're getting into the region code crack discussion again?

Anyway David, sounds realy interesting that you can use 35 MHz modules on your Tx. Is it a 12 or 14 MZ? Will it accept a 35 MHz module and transmit while still set to North America/USA in the region menu? Never heard of anyone who could actually do this.

My 12Z is set to North America and 50 mhz and has been since I received it last year. Yes I have tried other modules and they work. Got the error message one time, rebooted then it was not there. All the frequencies were then displayed in the transmitter.

I am afraid Jérome has gone somewhere else to find its answer now.

Personally I would like to hear from other 12Z users about this. I have a 14MZ and I know you can't change module so easily. As I plan to buy a 12Z I would like to know if all 12Z are the same and can use any module you put in. It will ease my decision.

Hello,

72Mhz authorized frequencies in France are not compatible with the Japanese frequencies except one.
It should be known that the T12Z is not imported into 72Mhz in France.
All my receivers are 72Mhz.
I want to put my radio on the 72Mhz band compatible.

click on Futaba and you will see the 72 mhz fully banded receivers, They also have the modules I believe. These work with 14 and 12

As for the module change on a 14. I know a few pilots that have done it without any problems.
