i am in the process of building my Trex 600N. I am almost done with the assemply but noticed that my washout contril arms are snapping off the ball. what should i do? obvoiusly this is not normal and i would not want this to happen while in the air. what do you recommend? Maybe my radio is not set up right and the movement of the head is too radical?

any thoughts?

check to make sure the ball links are not broken in any way and that they snap onto the balls and don't snap off easily. if they do snap off easily replace them , sometimes if a ball link breaks , it will be at the very top and be a hairline break. next , check the movement of the head and check for binding where you see the ball link ready to pop off the ball. double check the head installation. it's possible that you have something backwards or have put a short ball in where a long ball should go...

what are you doing when the ball link pops off the ball? are you just moving the servo's?

Yes. Moving the servos to the extreme position of the stick...

HighlineCBR , you must have your servo's set to go too far then in your swash ATV , i have my 600N set up at max throw and i don't get any binding in the linkages . if i increase the throw on the swash past the binding point then links want to pop.

I think i got it. That would be in the "Travel Adjust" menu??? changing the travel settings on the Aileron, Elevator and Pitch. Is that correct?

yes , in the DX7 , you will have a screen that has Ail , Elev , and Pitch on the right side of the screen with a pos or neg number like:

Ail +60
ele -60
pit +50

This is your travel adjustment for the swash plate o keep it from binding... the way to adjust is if the number is a + then going up will increase the throw so if you have +60 and want to increase throw go to +65 , +70 , obviously going down will decrease throws to keep from binding. if the number is negative like -60 going to -70 will increase the throw and going to -50 will decrease throw...

Hope this helps...
