Anyone else get this message while charging? Not sure what's going on here.....Doesn't matter if I'm charging a 2s or a big ol' 6s, at some point during charging the unit will beep and display a "connection broken" message. It doesn't ALWAYS happen, but often enough that I wonder if I'm doing something wrong. I'm using Bantam's balance adaptor and always balance charge my packs. I've tried wiggling the various cables, but even if I leave everything untouched the only way to get it to start charging again is to pull the power cord and start over.

All batteries are charged with the MAIN POER OUTPUT from the charger. When you balance THEN you also connect the battery to the balancer.

Simply connect a charge cable from the 4mm banana ports on the charger to the discharge leads on the battery.

Now, if you did do this and get that error, than means that the circuit is not being completed. In 99.9% of the cases, the charge cable is bad or broken. Also if your tap on the battery is broken, that will break the circuit as well.

it looks to me this has to do with loose connection as you have mentioned intermittent occurance. BC6 charges lipos with both connectors connected,ie, balance and power leads connected.

Thanks guys. I assumed it was a bad cable as well-banana plugs aren't exactly the most reliable type of connector. So I soldered up a new one and tried it again. The first pack charged no problem, but pack 2 got the error message. I burned off the first pack and put it back on the charger and got the error message again. Could a bad balance adaptor cause this problem? Weird how it's so random, and it wouldn't be a big deal except it makes trying to keep track of how much you put back in impossible.

OK, here is what you do. Do a Normal Lipo charge, no balancer. See if you can make it error again. If you cannot, then your charge cable is good. Do this with both batteries. If all is ok, then we know:

Charge main output is good.
Charge cables are good.
Battery discharge leads are good.

Remaining to diagnose:
Balance Board
Charger balance port
Battery taps

In most cases it is the charge cable. Most of the time when it is the cable, the cable was made by the user versus a purchased one.

Let us know if can you get it to error without the balance connection.

Ok turns out it was the balance adaptor. I still haven't been able to find the fault but it looks like it's on the PCB side of the plug. Nothing major and since they're so inexpensive I don't think I'll bother trying to fix it and just order another. Thanks for your help Evan-I'm really liking this charger so far. I ran it all day yesterday charging one pack after another and it barely even got warm!
