I just wanted to share with all ya'll "haters" that putting a good radio in a CPP makes it a much nicer flying bird. Like night and day. It even seems to handle the wind better. But that might be because of a slightly higher head speed, a little exponential, or getting lucky setting up the radio. Others have posted ways to improve the CPP and I believe that changing the radio should be priority number one! That is all. Happy Flyin!

It's just jealousy my man. These guys with their 90 gassers and what not just wish theirs flew like the blade. :YeaBaby:

Yes, my Blade CP was a changed bird when I Spektrumized it and added a G90 gyro. When I did the Bell Hiller Upgrade, added Aluminum swash, and Carbon Fiber blades, it got even better. There's no arguing the point that with enough investment, you can make the Blade into a nice little helicopter. You can search the threads and find pictures of mine in all its tricked out goodness.
Unfortunately, fixed pitch motor driven tail rotors are a poor substitute for a real tail rotor. That problem can't be easily rectified. I've since moved my electronics to a $70 Honey Bee King 2 ARF and haven't looked back.

After reading your posts about the Honey Bee King II I'm seriously thinking about getting one for Christmas! I have alot invested in the Blade though. Nothing fancy. 4 batterys, 3 chargers, and enough spare parts to open my own hobby store! We'll see. Keep us posted on the King.

I agree that using another radio with the Blade CP makes it 100% easier to fly and hover. Before I flew my Trex 450 I thought my BCP flew okay after changing the radio but that I really sucked at flying and needed a lot more practice. Then I got the Trex and it flew 10 times better and was so much easier to hover and fly than the BCP, even with the better radio. As a rookie I feel that unless you are a real good pilot, stay away from the BCP. I've flown the BCP a couple times since I've switched over full time to my Trex and I felt like I was flying a bat on crack.

I hate to give the advice that you've probably heard a hundred times, but if you're thinking you'll be with this hobby for a while you'll be glad you got the T-Rex. I've seen some used deals pretty cheap. And parts are even cheaper than the Blade.

T-Rex parts are cheaper, because they are sold in multiples -- not individually. Need a replacement feathering shaft? Here's FOUR. Need a new main shaft? Here's THREE. After your first post-crash parts purchase, you'll have a enough spares to get you 3 or 4 more incidents. It's a much better spares model than E-Flite's one-off approach. All that said, that first T-Rex parts buy is a doozy.
Honey Bee King 2 parts are cheap in the long run as well. Plus, you've got the added bonus of knowing that no mechanical damage will cost you more than $60-$70 (price of an ARF version). Haha. When in doubt, replace the whole airframe.
