has anyone mounted the tail servo on the tail boom and used a carbon tail control rod straight to the tail slider? just wondering if i do have to move the servo to the tail due to center of gravity being off what i would use for a tail control rod. i have used a carbon rod on my trex 450 and it goes straight to the tail rudder lever without going through and rod guides. can i use this same setup on the hurricane or would i need some type of guides due to the longer carbon rod than the size on my trex450 size?

The Trex has a smaller boom so the direct carbon pushrod is ok in that application. I think the Hurricane tail is just too long for an unsupported carbon pushrod.

or you use a thicker pushrod (which I do on my 450s anyway). 4mm CF tube has very little flex :)

You can also buy kits from QuickUK etc. for Sceadus and so on...

I am looking into this. Quick UK has servo mounts for the Hirobo Shuttle/Sceadu that should work. Also Cf servo rod ends for Raptor or Hirobo that should work.

I have seen Gaui boom mounted servo mounts, which look like tail support clamp (the one for the horizontal fin and supports) with a metal strip to bolt the servo to, but I can't find who had them. I thought Flying Hobby, but don't see them now.

The Trex 600 servo mounts work on the Gaui boom

i already bought the rex600 tail mount for the servo, though i havent installed it yet. i did buy some 4mm carbon rod also for the tail. it seems very strong and doesnt bend that easy. i guess ill give it a try.
