I've seen several Hurricanes set up with the JR DS821, and also the Hitec HS-65MG.

Are the metal gears needed? What servos are you using?

thanks,

DS821s on 5v SBEC for now and they are (apparently) coping very well with high-ish headspeed (2300+) and fumbled 3D.

I'm using a Hyperion Titan Cool SBEC (TiCool SBEC)... 4 amps cont (claimed) and 5 amp burst. I needed something that could take 10S input...it's rated for 3S to 10S LiPo.
It has a jumper to flip it from 5v to 6v output but I'm still waiting on a voltage step down for my tail servo (Fut 9254 can only handle 5v).

Iam using an Align BEC, with a Mega Power 1000mah 2S Battery, with 3 HS-322 servos, and an S9650 on the tail. So far so good.

My 550CF setup

gaui 1100kv motor
75 amp gaui esc
Ultimate BEC High Voltage in 5 volts out www.koolflightsystems.com
Maxwell metal gear servos from www.flying-hobby.com
Futaba GY 401 gyro and 9254 digital servo
APlus 2200 3s1p x 2 lipo www.flyinghobby.com I would prefer the 3300 mah packs.
