OK,

After being stung to the tune of about $1300 by buying "name brand" Align packs... (I know now)...

I have been buying nothing but Flight Power, and love them. I am ever so slightly tempted to buy one of these Kong packs, but refuse to do so until I hear of someone that has flown over 50 cycles on a High performance electric (600 or V-2)

Anyone shredding these yet?

My biggest question is; How do they hold up at a 3C charge rate? For me, the biggest temptation is the additional flight time allowed by a "fast charge".

ouch. Should I ask what happened to the packs?

I Have probably half that on one Kong Power I bought a while back, but I don't have an Eagle Tree logger (yet). Still wondering the longevity on these myself. I actually stumbled upon this thread looking for fdr graphs on the Air Thunder/Kong Power packs, I'm about to buy a few T-Rex 600 batteries and while I know the Flight Power's are better I figured I'd look for some hard data to support my decision.

If you're looking for longevity (i.e. # of cycles), power, and especially "Fast Charge", I think you want to look at A123 packs (i.e. Lithium Ion Iron Phosphate, used inside Dewalt battery packs). You can charge a T-Rex 600-size battery in 15 minutes and be on your way. Only downside is they weigh somewhere between a LiPo and NiMH. Upsides outweigh the downs if you ask me, they're virtually indestructable in a crash, and can be discharged down to zero volts (therefore balancing them isn't a big deal.. so what if they're a few hundred millivolts off..). Also the A123's are cheaper than the top-shelf LiPos and you need less of them if you bring a charger with you.

Personally I can't decide between any of them and will probably buy at least one of each, and an EagleTree logger to keep an eye on them.. However if you're trying to save some cash go for the Kong Power's.. Pretty good bang for your buck if you can stand a few hundred extra grams on your bird. Of course, if you have some money burning a hole in your pocket, go with the FlightPowers.

Just puffed into oblivion. Between 25-40 cycles. The 2100's started to go around 25 cycles, the 4600's went at around 40 cycles.

All met the same fate. Fully charged, then shorted. :rolling

Chase... I'll look at that Finless review tomorrow when I have the time. Thanks!

Wow, just posted today, great find

After watching his video, I wouldn't feel too bad about buying a Kong Power 6s for my 600 :thinking .. They seem to be pretty comparable to the other two. BUT, for only $30 more I can have the FlightPower, so I'll probably go that route. KP needs to slash their prices if they really want to compete with such a reputable brand.

Align batteries are crap, I really wish they'd stick to what they're good at. I have one Align battery (came with my V2) that puffs up after a flight, then every single time will go down to normal size. It's not puffing like a normal lipo does, I think it's just the packaging but I can't be sure. Either way it's done this quite a few times and I haven't had a problem so far. I will however run it until it dies :)

That's my feeling for $30 a pack, I am buying Flight Powers. I like the performance better. I have Air Thunders and FP's for the 450 I can feel the difference. I have all FP's for the 600.

For my T-Rex 450, the KongPower is my "hot" battery :) :

1x Kong Power 2200mAh 25C
1x Align 2150 mAh 22C
1x Thunder Power 2100 mAh 18C
1x Tanic 2100 mAh 16C (yep you read that right :YeaBaby: hey it was free give me a break!)

Lately the T-Rex 600 has been absorbing all my funds, I'll of course pick up some better batteries very soon. Anyway, the KP obviously has the best 'kick' out of the four.. the Tanic and Align batteries I use only for hovering and forward flight (I mean it, the Tanic is absolutely SICK, as in NO power and terrible headspeed).. I'm still a noob with a few months flight time, so they do me well. I save the KP for last and bust out with the crazy moves  .. 9 times out of 10 the heli comes home in pieces but oh well we all have to start somewhere.

Hi..
I have been flying with Kongpower 6s batteries for over 6 months on my Trex600 with a NEU motor 1515 2.5D. The power is just awesome and keeps the volt to the end until its complete empty. I have now 30 cycles on each pack ( I had 2 but now 3) And there is no difference in power. I have a Flightpower EVO 4900 mah and that is almost dead now after 45 cycles, there is less than 50% capacity.
I did some logging with my eagle tree, and max amps i could pull with Kongpower was 105 amps up til several times within 6min flying. With my EVO pack i could get up to 95 amps 3 times.
My favorit pack is Kongpower with no doubt...:-)

Cheers
