John,
Which battery pack(s) that you sell would you recommend for this heli? Does the FP EVOLITE 18C 800 mAh 2S1P fit properly?
Thanks,
John

yeah, those will fit fine...the kit will accommodate a stick or brick.
we have been using some prototype kp's in 450 and 850 size.

Yikes! That's a little more than I thought it would be! I was looking forward to completely destroying the interior of my house this winter but I guess I'll just have to stick to falling down drunk instead.

Hi John,
I was eagerly looking fwd to the Hurricane 200. To say the truth, the cost is steep for this bird. No offence meant and i know you guys have ur reasons for the pricing - but here is a little maths below.
1. Hurricane200+Motor/ESC 319.00
2. servos (S75) 45.00
3. Rx 50.00
4. gyro+tail servo 160.00
Total 574.00
Now for the Hurricane 550 EP - base configuration
Kit + Motor + ESC 320.00
Servos(DS821x3) 45.00 (this is the price i paid).
Rx 50.00
Gyro+ Tail servo 200.00
Total 615.00
For almost 30 USD more than the cost of this little birdie - we can get a Hurricane 550 up and running. And from prior experience it won't be an ideal first bird.
I know it all comes down to "If you want it - you buy it" ... but this bird would attract a lot of people if it weren't this costly. I hope that readyheli will release a economical version of this bird soon.

k

Umm, what about batteries? I think you might find some savings when comparing pack requirements.

I agree that the price is higher than I expected. You could get a TREX in the air for about the same price or less.

This heli looks cute and fun to play with. However, it is probably not for beginners and not really to fly inside the house, excepted if you live in a big place. But, I think that most people probably already have something to fly outside and the T-rex is small enough.
I would have been willing to buy the heli just for fun, but at a lower price because I do not need it. I would have bought an economical version of it. I do not need full CNC parts for this heli which will probably be resistant to impact even with plastic parts, considering that the little machine is very compact and that you will not fly it at 100 ft.
However, looks like a great little heli and parts are very cheap to buy.

My T-Rex 450 SE v2 cost me just as much as my T-Rex 600 E did. I don't get it guys.. What were you expecting? If you wanted a cheap toy helicopter they already make a bunch of them for cheaper.. but they all suck.

How any lipo packs did you buy for the 600 ?

I'd say his point is valid, however. I got to see it flying at the IHobby expo. It's no blade cp nor does it fly like one. Kyle Stacy had it doing everything one would expect of a large heli and very well, I might add. That's not going to come cheap. If you want to do 3d in you livingroom, this is the one to have.

beeflyer - check my comment on how this is not the ideal first heli .. most of who want a hurricane already have a TRex 450 - that offsets the battery costs to a large extent. That is the reason why i didn't mention batteries in my comparison..

That's my point.
It's dumb to compare the cost of a micro CNC/CF heli to a large plastic heli or even a large CNC/CF heli. The kit costs will always be very similar, because the machining costs are very similar. The materials are relatively cheap.

I agree with you, but to the average consumer it all boils down to perceived value. Smaller SHOULD=cheaper in their eyes, and while that's not the reality it is what will drive sales.
At it's current price point it's an expensive novelty-yeah, a pro can flog the snot out of it in all kinds of weather, but the rest of us schmoe's are going to have a hard time with it in any sort of wind. And, as someone already mentioned, you're not really going to be able to do any more than hover or slow FF indoors unless you happen to live in a gymnasium.
Knock a hundred bucks off and I'd bet Gaui couldn't make enough to satisfy the demand.

At the end, the question is why they do not sell a plastic version of the kit? Why can we only buy an all CNC heli? What is the problem to sell a kit at 200$ or less?
Besides having a cute little heli, what is the purpose to buy the H200 at that price for someone that already fly a T-rex 450? If it was cheaper, everyone would buy one just because it is cute and fun to watch it fly at that size. But at that price, I think I am better to buy more packs for my Hurricane for now.

negative. the mini zoom is an ep100, and had flaws. it did not piro flip, and was not very stable.
this is the ep200, and is well built.
it has not been available until now as a full cnc/cf machine.
thanks for looking.

A lot of the parts used in the 200 have been / are available as upgrades to the EP100 - the new frame used was sold as the EP100V2, and the long boom / belt / blades are also available as EP100 upgrades. However I don't think that they have been available previously a s a complete kit.
